Zonk Hotel Hakata

Hakata
we got the corner sofa room, very spacious with 2 queen beds next to each other, very good with my 2 kids together. location was very nice, we drove and there are a few parking areas behind the hotel which was convinent. but they dont clean the room for you or enter the room at all so its good for insecure guest i guess. towel not changing was a problem for my wife....
Oriental Hotel Fukuoka Hakata Station

Hakata
PERECT location, literally a tunnel from the metro station to the hotel (best you ask the hotel which exit it is so you can avoid going up the ground floor). It was such a treat, like it's your secret tunnel. Love that it has a gym, and the free sake and Photo Booth was fun! V clean room, better you pay a bit more for the slightly bigger double room.
The Grand Residence Hotel Hakata
4.1/545 Reviews
There was no staff at the check-in counter, so it was a little confusing, but I managed to get through. It was in a good location, within walking distance of Hakata Station, and a taxi to Fukuoka Airport International was less than 1000 yen. Takenoya was on the first floor, and there was an izakaya and a convenience store on the opposite street, so it was very convenient.
Zonk Hotel Nakasu-Deaibashi

Nakasu
The location is good, very close to the station and tourist attractions, and the hygiene is pretty good, but there are a few problems. 1. There is no front desk. You need to check in by yourself through the hotel iPad. The instructions are not clear and it took several people half an hour to complete the registration. If you encounter problems, there is no front desk to assist. 2. The drainage in the bathroom is not smooth, and water sometimes backs up outside the bathroom. 3. The Wi-Fi is very slow, and you can only watch YouTube at 480P at night. 4. The indoor temperature is difficult to adjust, the heater is too warm and the temperature cannot be lowered. 5. There is basically no view at all. There is only one window in the room, but the wall facing another building is airtight. 6. I stayed there for 5 days and no one cleaned it. I don’t know if it’s normal. However, because no one was cleaning up the garbage, garbage accumulated indoors and no garbage bags were provided. The toilet also started to get dirty and we had to clean it ourselves. Conclusion: Only the location is good and the price-performance ratio is average.
A Good Day Fukuoka Riverside
3.4/533 Reviews
We stayed 3 nights in A Good Day and it’s honestly difficult to find something to complain about. As its name suggests it, the hotel is located along the Naka river, a bit south of the Nakasu island, 15 minute walk from the Hakata station. We took actually the time to walk in the neighborhood, full of small and cute shrines, gardens and cozy and cool restaurants and bars. It was actually nicer to discover this neighborhood and much more outside the common tourist areas, which was fine by us. The personal is incredibly nice, the room are clean and very practical, the breakfast is a mix between continental and Japanese. We had a great stay, highly recommendable. The only bémol for us was the powerful green light of the smoke alarm system (I think) on the bedroom’s ceiling. It was really powerful and can be annoying during the night.
ANA Crowne Plaza Fukuoka, an IHG Hotel

Hakata
My second visit to Fukuoka, but first time trying out the Crowne Plaza, as I was in town to catch the Cirque du Soleil show Kurious in Fukuoka. I took a taxi from the airport as many travelers recommended this and the distance is quite near, as Fukuoka is not a big city. However, one could also take the subway from the airport as it’s just a couple of stop to Hakata station. The hotel is about ten minutes walk from Hakata station, may take longer if it’s your first time. Most of the staff here are very friendly and helpful, I was checked in quickly and, thr room size is very large if one compares with most Japanese hotels. Room was super clean and everything works well inside. Sleep comfort was very good as well, and the breakfast room on the lobby level was very good as well, a great combination of local and western favorites. Don’t miss a wonderful ramen shop near the hotel near Hakataekimae, it’s called Hakata Ikkousha Sohonten can can be found on Yelp! It’s where the locals go, and so much better than the overrated Ichiran. I would definitely return again in the future.
