Château de Bagnols

Everything was comfortable, my room was large and well prepared. We had a very good dinner. Service was perfect and everyone so kind. So we hope to come back in a future. It' s not so close to Milano but It has been a pleasure to stay at Chateau de Bagnols

We enjoyed the most amazing, excellent value, dinner at 1217, the gastronomique restaurant at the Chateau. The service was impeccable and the food outstanding - definitely Michelin star quality speaking from experience. The accommodation was surreal, living in a part of history. An inspiring location and well worth a visit.

The enviroment the castle was built in was great, it was overlooking the nearby village. The castle itself had a long history, the service was excellent. I love how creative the swimming pool was located. The was also a hummingbird, first I ever saw.-BH

Amazing hotel in a beautiful setting. Top tier experience. Rooms were perfection. The only thing that would have improved our experience is if the air conditioning worked and if housekeeping would have brought us the fan they offered and the iron we requested.

Great Hotel, dating back from the 1100's! Oozing history, good service. Castle rooms very rustic....would recommend the modern wing.

The transformation of this fortress build in the XIII century into a 5 star hotel has been a remarkable achievement. Not only because its major difficulties but mainly because they put effort into every detail ( furnishing, windows, doors, etc) so it resembles a rustic ambience in accordance with the building. Rooms are located in the main fortress ( the largest ones ) and in the former stables just across the moat, some of the later ones have terraces with view. Said all this it is important to mention some practicalities that are not so comfortable and you have to be aware. Beds vary from 150 to 190 cm wide, most of them in the range 170-180. No king beds of 200 cm. Most bathroom have no shower cabin, only a bathtub with a hand shower. It takes around 15 minutes to fill the tub, it is not practical. Breakfast is served buffet style and is OK. The main restaurant is a gourmet restaurant with a compact menu choice, although the food is of top quality. Some days of the week there is another restaurant with simple dishes. Staff is very kind and helpful. WIFI works well. The outdoor pool is nice and the Spa is OK. We had a garden suite consisting of a large living room and on a second floor a bedroom with closet and bathroom. A terrace with view was all along the front of the living room. The area around the hotel is mostly for wine tasting. Many chateau open for a wine tour. Then Lyon is 45 minutes way. None of the many little villages in the area is of relevant interest.

This hotel is incredible. The whole experience of the setting, the room, the food and the service was exemplary. I cannot stress enough how perfect the restoration of the buildings is - everything is perfect enough without making it into a Disney castle! This is for VERY special occasions but it is well worth it.

Most spectacular hotel we’ve ever stayed at. The staff was absolutely incredible, so friendly and helpful the entire time. The spa is beautiful, the food is delicious and the views are breath-taking. 10/10 would recommend with great enthusiasm.
