We had a rat in our mobile home. The bungalow was not cleaned beforehand, and it was evident that it was a privately owned mobile home rented out by the campsite for some private owners. This meant that the decor and so on were personal, with pictures of the family that normally owned the mobile home. Additionally, they initially gave us a bungalow that was already rented out to someone else. It was very awkward to knock on “our new” mobile home and ask the people inside if they were also supposed to stay there. They were, so we had to go back to the reception and explain that there must have been a mistake. We were then given another mobile home. The following night, when we heard rustling from the kitchen, we discovered that there were rats in our mobile home. When we mentioned this to the reception, their first reaction was that since it was a nature site, it could happen, but they would send the man who could remove the rats to our mobile home. We said that we no longer wanted to stay in that mobile home as it was too disgusting to have rats in the kitchen. At first, we were told that there was nowhere else to stay, so they couldn’t help us. When we insisted on speaking with the manager, they suddenly managed to find another mobile home for us. The pool area is not suitable for children under 6-7 years old, as the only pool where they can touch the bottom is not warm. It is downright cold, so they don’t play there for long. The other pools are fine and just as they should be. When we arrived, we bought some food at the restaurant by the pool. The pizza was a frozen pizza, and the salad was also a ready-made salad directly from a factory. Nothing was made in the kitchen; everything was heated in something that resembles a microwave. Overall, Camping Sandaya L’Étoile d’Argens is far from a 5-star experience, not at all! It is more likely around 2-3 stars.

The website advertises mobile homes for sale, I expressed interest though various contacts including telephone, email and web reply form. No answer to any messages. When I called the main switchboard they stated they do not sell homes to the public, I pointed out the website is clearly listing properties and includes the Sandaya logo. They tried to say this is a legacy from the old company but I have been checking this site for many months so this is definitely new listing. Still they deny having homes for sale. It’s bizarre and time wasting to people.

We stayed at ecolodge during the last days of August and the first of September, for just over a week. Looking back, disappointment prevails. When arriving at the accommodation, type KOSY, we found an outdated and filthy residence. No way cleaning had been done properly. Mold in the shower, dust, hairs in the sink and on the terrace. Yak. Have a look at the pictures I enclose. What I can’t visualize, however, is the smell. A damp, moldy odor welcomed us here. Disgusting. The general state of the residence was deeply concerning: the electronic door lock was taped together (I kid you not - see picture), drilled holes in the walls, lamps loose and not working, the shower door only closed and opened with brute force, and a window shade in one of the bedrooms unable to close - kids awake early morning. Finally, bed mattresses as comfortable as laying on a concrete floor. Hello, backpain, goodbye, night rest. This, a 5 star facility? No way. Impossible. I was promised a solution: or a change in residence, or - if this would be impossible - a financial compensation. Management would decide and inform me. When checking out, a week ago, management did not decide yet… and would inform me by e-mail. One week later, no response whatsoever received. I cannot recommend and we’ll never return.

We stayed here in September, in a cabin. We have stayed at the site in our own caravan but not for 5 years. The site now has many more cabins/lodges and isn't really a touring site. Pitch was large and shady- the whole site is very green with many mature trees and bushes. Cabin was well equipped with nice crockery and good cooking utensils. There is an induction hob and microwave, but no oven. This was an omission as it is useful to have oven facilities if you are self catering. The microwave could be replaced with a combination oven/grill. There is good storage and a huge bed - in fact it only just fits into the bedroom and our sheets didn't fit. Outside is a nice deck with table and chairs. There are 2 lights, but they are offset from the seating area. Another more central light would be useful to make it easier to eat outside in the evening. The biggest minus point is the poor Internet This is not a cheap site and the Internet signal was nonexistent onost of the site. There is a very poor 4g signal so ideal holiday for a digital detox.

Not a 5 star camping site. The cleaning of the sanitary was horribly - no paper, no soap, no hot water - disgusting. At arrival they first gave us a pitch half the size we had booked, the electricity was not working and we call the emergency contact number which was not answered. Food was average, but nothing special. Would not recommend going there!

Pitches smaller than advertised and very dusty/muddy. No grass. Lots of ants though! Facilities relatively basic and poorly maintained. Often no hot water. Pool nice but way too busy - and antisocial behaviour divebombimg/ball games etc uncontrolled. Loud music every night til the early hours from somewhere off site. No visible management. Good cycle tracks to the beach and town. Has great potential if it were to be well managed.

Booked a camping pitch for 5 nights in july 2022 mon-Friday for our vw camper van and drive away tent awing on arrival Monday we was impressed with the site staff were friendly in reception and pool and bar area’s looked impressive. Then we was taking to our site a little mud patch covered with a ants nest and someones car parked on it from a local log cabin also a couple of rude maintenance workers on there with all there tools all over the place . Anyway I convinced the family we would make the most of it after all the rest of resort looked good thts why we booked but after 3 nights on tht mud patch we couldn’t take anymore even though id coverd a large part with a ground sheet I bought from a local decathlon we were still getting covered in mud and ants so we just packed up and left after 3 nights and wont be revisiting again .
