We were at a conference/training course at the Caritas conference center. That's why we chose the hotel. About 2 km from Freiburg Minster and thus the city center in an old residential area on a hill. Very quiet location. The hotel has 47 single rooms and several double rooms. Most of the rooms are in simple outbuildings. The main building (old, modernized villa) has the double rooms, restaurant, etc.) Parking is available on site (note: hotel on a hill, may not be suitable for wheelchair users and/or physically disabled people). However, the hotel is certified as barrier-free. Our double room was very small but very pleasantly furnished (2-star standard). It was in the attic. Since they had set up a fan next to the bed, I assume that it gets very hot up there on warmer days!! Fast, stable and good WiFi throughout the building and in the conference center. The cleanliness of the entire hotel is surprisingly striking. Whether in the rooms, the breakfast room or the toilets!!! Very pleasant. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is sufficient and there is a large selection. Of course, if you're looking for crustaceans again, you'll have to go to another hotel. That's obvious with a 2 star hotel. However, we found it very pleasant that the bread, sausages and dairy products were obviously from local producers or artisans despite the 2* standard. Everything was very nicely presented and not just with the usual 2 tomatoes and a sprig of parsley. Reception only manned during normal working hours. In the reception area there is a small "cafeteria" with a coffee machine and drinks that can be taken away on a trust basis. Escape routes are well signposted and despite the old building structure there are obviously good fire safety precautions. Very new and good technology in the conference center. Highly recommended for training courses.
