SureStay Hotel by Best Western Higginsville

I don’t mind that the place was older, a bit run down, and not as clean as it might have been. I’ve stayed in worse. I don’t even care much that the newly installed smart TV didn’t work or that, for some reason, the room’s telephone wasn’t operating. What I DO mind, though, was that shower didn’t work when I was getting ready to leave the next morning. I was also was less than happy about all the excuses I was given from the hotel’s Cook (the only person around) when I was checking out—that the Night Desk Clerk was a new hire, the owner’s wife recently had a baby, the owner was in the Air Force and would soon to be deployed overseas, and that he couldn’t discuss matters with me the morning I left because he was with his wife and child. I’m sympathetic, I really am. But there should have been some kind have compensation, or even a phone call made after I left my contact information for him to reach out to me. And, if things are that screwed up, they shouldn’t be open for business . . . .

All of the staff were pleasant and friendly. The room was very comfortable, and everything worked as it should. Easy on and off axcess to the interstate . Gas station right next store, truck stop directly across the street, and truck parking. Breakfast available.

THE best beds hands down. We were on a 3 week cross country motorcycle trip. Slept in lots of beds. These were THE best. Frank at the front desk was a delight. Because of mechanical issues on the route to the hotel, we were running late but a quick call to the hotel to let them know left us feeling good about our late arrival. Room was nice. Very spacious. Would have loved to stayed longer.

Pleasantly surprised by this clean, safe, budget hotel. Traveling across country and tired we took a chance and it was far better than the 4 star we had just stayed in. We pulled into the gas station across the street which also has a McDonald's and Subway and decided we were done driving for the night. We were skeptical looking at the outside but all rooms were within the inside and required a key for the outermost entrance.

Very clean excellently remodeled hotel, very friendly owners and employees. we found a gem in this smaller town. will stay again when in the area

Great Value! The staff was friendly, the room was updated and clean. We came to visit my Dad’s home town of Higginsville and the location was perfect. There is a vineyard with outdoor dining across the highway that provided a lovely evening of good food, wine and entertainment.

This place was very clean and modern. The price for 2 nights was excellent. I did not visit the attached bar and grill so, I cannot comment on that.

While the outside of the hotel appears dated, the inside is great! The rooms are good sized and very clean. The staff at the desk were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious! Would definitely stay again when in the area.

We stopped while driving across the country after visiting family for the holidays. This was a case where looks can definitely be deceiving. The building may look older, but the inside was clean and recently renovated. Our room was an excellent price for what we got. The beds were among the comfiest of any hotel we’ve stayed at recently, and the room stayed cozy despite the extreme/exceptional cold spell while we were coming through. The staff were kind, and the hotel was pet friendly (with a reasonable pet fee). Hotel also had a nice breakfast spread, a big plus in such a small town. Overall, I’d definitely recommend stopping if you’re looking for good accommodations at a great value.
