Perfect stay from start to finish. All team members so friendly and helpful, went out of their way to speak. Bedroom very grand and beautifully decorated. Dinner and breakfast were fantastic. Lovely Countryside views. We will definitely return, thank you.

Such a stunning place to stay. This was our third visit and my husband and I stayed for one night with dinner and breakfast. The food was superb, with every dish cooked perfectly and mouth-wateringly delicious. Our room was very comfortable and grand with incredible views across beautiful countryside. There are lovely grounds to walk in and an ancient church to visit. Incredibly relaxing and a welcome retreat in such busy lives. The staff are warm and welcoming and we would like to convey our special thanks to the incredible head chef, Pete on reception, and the friendly, helpful, efficient waiting staff. We would like to send our special sincere gratitude to Carolina who always makes everything perfect. We truly appreciate everyone’s hard work and can’t wait to see you all again.

My husband and I have just returned from our Anniversary Break. We enjoyed our stay just as much as our last visit ten years ago. We were greeted by front of house manager Alex, who I would like to say a big thank you, for your excellent service and hospitality in arranging our break for us, it was faultless. The hotel is beautiful, so historic and a lovely atmosphere. The service was excellent and food beautifully presented and delicious. Our room was looking out onto the parkland and sheep to the front of the hotel. It was beautiful, comfortable, bright and clean. We really enjoyed walking the extensive grounds and gardens which are so peaceful and kept immaculately. We will be returning, thank you. Lynn and Shaun

We booked one of the most beautiful rooms in Stapleford Park Hotel. It was very elegant, well lit, and private. Before we received our starters, we were served with small warm fresh bread and butter. For the starters, we had English asparagus, Parma ham, and poached egg. The dish was amazingly cooked, full of flavour, and fresh! We had 3 different main courses: Roast sirloin of beef, Yorkshire pudding, duck fat roast potatoes; Roast leg of lamb, mint sauce, seasonal vegetables; Fillet of cod, fennel, peas, broad beans & baby gem. All of those dishes were perfectly cooked. The beef, lamb, and cod were very juicy and tender. For the desserts, we ordered Strawberry meringue cheesecakes, strawberry and cream ice creams. They were delicious and beautifully served. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and hospitable, particularly Sophie, Karolina and bar manager Przemek. Sophie and Karolina, who were looking after us during our 3 meal courses were very caring, helpful and professional. Przemek was making sure everything is served on time and on highest standard. It was the best service we have ever had in any hotel! Also, the hotel offers a lot of activities like: a beatiful pool with sauna and jacuzzi, a tennis courts, a spa and gym, a huge outdoor chess, a steam train and a grass hockey. There are beautiful and big gardens too. There is plenty to do in the hotel if you decide to visit. It was an incredible experience for our whole family! Highly recommended hotel!

Fantastic food , super spa and gym, wonderful ground but sadly poor hotel service . Firstly the positive here is definitely the food, amazing chef , we stayed for 2 nights mid week and the food was wonderful. Who ever does the cooking is highly talented. The Spa was also super , lovely friendly staff and fantastic service. The grounds are beautiful. However having visited Stapleford for many years we felt disappointed at the hotel as it is certainly not offering the level of service for a luxury break . Firstly I had to phone several times to sort out the booking I wanted it to be perfect as our silver wedding anniversary. In our 3 days there not a single person wished us congratulations once . The booking had the wrong name but reception weren’t bothered and never changed it. Of course it doesn’t matter but it is a sign that they don’t seemingly care about the details In the past someone would meet you as you parked and take your bags. Now there is no porter so you can either cram in the lift of lug them up the stairs. They changed the times of our meals without asking us , luckily you get an email so I spotted it. You used to get your bedroom turned down and little chocolates left while at dinner but no longer. The following day we travelled to Birmingham stayed in a hotel owned by a big chain and the service was far superior at less than half the price. We felt so sad that having been so many times that the service in the hotel has dropped to a level that would certainly make us think twice . This is meant to be a luxury get away but the experience no longer reflects it. To finish though delicious food, great spa and beautiful surroundings.

A beautiful stately home turned hotel. The public rooms are delightful . We enjoyed our stay with a couple of reservations. Our deluxe room was in the garrets. The room was large but quite underwhelming and certainly did not earn its delux status. A large bathroom BUT the tiling and bath surrounds were grubby! The bath has brown stains on its base . Our bathrooms at home are certainly not like this and we don’t expect to find it in a 4* hotel. The grouting was brown pink discoloured in parts with black mould. (Photos)They need refurbishing ! We were moved on day 4 for the last 2 nights. I walk with a stick, there is a lift but one has to encounter several treacherous steps down from the lift and then more to reach the garret room. I wonder what provision is made for that floor when used for elderly and disabled with regards to evacuation, as lifts cannot be used. Has a risk assessment been carried out, if not it needs to be as I don’t believe this floor is suitable as it stands. Our new room on the 2nd floor was with a disabled person in mind in the bathroom and there was an emergency evacuation chair not far from the room. We did wonder whether we had been placed in the garret room because we had our dog with us. I can assure you he is accustomed to a luxurious home as are we! We ate once in the bar which was good and once a la carte. The a la carte for me was shocking. My husband chose fillet of beef which was good, I chose the lamb. The lamb and accompaniements were cold, the lamb hadn’t been trimmed with residual sinew and more appallingly a huge chunk of gristle sinew and tough meat made up over half of it. It was inedible. My lovely Waitress Claudia whisked it away and I chose the fillet in its place. My husband ate alone and then when mine was cooked I ate alone. My ordered side dish only came half way through my meal. Not four star standards I have to say! The fillet was good. We chose not to eat with you again. Waiter service breakfast was superb both with the staff and the quality of the food. On the morning of our departure I fluffed up the pillows on the bed and the inner pillow became visible. I am amazed that no padded pillow protector covers are used in this hotel. I removed four pillow cases and they revealed we had been sleeping on filthy fluffy pillows covered in human bodily fluids, yellow brown and pinkish stains, I felt physically sick.(photos) In a general note Housekeeping needs to go round the rooms everyday straightening lamp shades as most are skew whif this included bedrooms and public rooms. The wall lights aren’t straight. Light bulbs should be changed on the day they go out. The attention is in the detail. Now the excellent part - the Staff. They are your shining star! Particular mention to Claudia, Proy, Holly and Karolina. Nothing was too much trouble, their kindness, cheerfulness and sweet natures made us feel so welcome and that nothing was too much trouble. I hope the owners realise just what an asse

Our recent stay generally lived up to expectation. Our room was fine, the food was excellent, the hotel setting was delightful and amenities were great. The spa treatments were especially good but what made our stay truly memorable was all of the hotel STAFF we encountered who without a single exception were friendly, welcoming, good at their jobs and made us feel valued, and ‘at home’. It was absolutely the staff who are indeed the jewels in this hotel’s crown. Special mention must go to the Bar Manager/Maître De and all the dining room staff. They were just lovely. We cannot fault them. We shall return to Stapleford Park. Pam Clark & Chris Child

Excellent as always, but we did hear another couple complaining of their avocado being mashed not sliced, sour dough bread too hard and it not being "as special as expected" as no walk in shower. We, however, found excellent service, fantastic food and opulent rooms.

This was supposed to be a special event, we were asked this and I told them my husband was 80 while visiting, on arrival we were asked for a £100 deposit in case of accidents ! our room details had gone missing then the young lady escorted us to our room in the attic after climbing 60 stairs and really struggling we were told there was lift but never shown where it was and there were no notices anywhere where anything was, I looked on several occasions for the swimming pool but never found it and the bed was so hard pillows non existent we both came home one day early after paying over £500, the meals were good if not lengthy in receiving them about 90mins from start to finish and we had 2halves of larger and had to pay £32, on leaving were told we had another night but never asked why we were leaving early , by then I was to annoyed and upset to go through the details, I have emailed the hotel but have never received an answer as yet. It is a beautiful place all be it very ostentatious , it needs some information in the rooms as to where to find things etc and instruction on how to work the lights
