A classy hotel with upscale accommodations. Comfortable bed and pillows with fluffy towels and wash clothes. Personnel were friendly and pleasant with a thorough understanding of services. Valet parking is very close and reasonably priced($22). There is a great attention to detail with the decor and amenities. Just love the ambiance. Great location within easy walking distance into down town historic Fredericksburg. Great experience for our first time and we will be returning again soon.

This was my second time staying here. Overall, it was a very nice stay. The front desk staff were welcoming and professional during both visits. Beautiful lobby and hotel. Nice size shower and good water pressure. Very well-appointed hotel room. Very nice bedding and comfortable bed. I like that the sheets looks like they are professionally pressed. I do not like wrinkled bedding you see at a lot o hotels that are sloppily made. The sheet and bedspread here are very nice quality and pristine. There is a very long desk with draws if you are visiting for business. Good and dependable Internet. Nice chair to relax and a desk chair. There is great lightening in the room and a gorgeous chandelier (see image). The room is elegantly decorated, bright and inviting. The hotel room floors are beautiful and there is carpet under the beds which is nice. There are not a lot of places to put your clothes if you are staying long term and very few hangers. There is a small refrigerator, a steamer, and a safe in the room. I prefer an iron and ironing board but steamer worked OK but may not work well for more difficult clothing. Nice view from my room and quiet. The room was clean upon arrival. I am not sure how well housekeeping does on longer stays but first impression and condition of the room was very good. Valet parking is offered but there is plenty of parking in the area. There are stores and restaurants in walking distance of the hotel as well. The hotel sits in a nice and quiet neighborhood. Cons: Small bathroom, especially the sink, there is nowhere to put your toiletries because too small (see image). Also, they provide bottled water on the night stand next to the bed which is nice but you cannot tell if they were previously open. They may want to just hand out when you check in. It is unclear how long they have been there or if they are changed out after each guest. Food: This was the worse part of my visit, I ordered from the restaurant downstairs and paid for room service, gave a large tip, and unfortunately all the food was cold, the bread was stale, all the food tasted awful, there were missing items and the order was just all wrong. Absolutely no care was put into getting the order right, in presentation, or in quality, it did not match the quality of the hotel. Worse, they did not even try to make it right. The person taking my order got nothing correct about my order which was very simple, thank goodness I do not have food allergies. I would definitely not order here again. I also ordered dessert which was supposed to come with ice cream and this is what they sent (see picture). No pets are allowed and I did not see any, so that is good news for those who want that option. Overall, good but short stay but terrible food and service from the restaurant (the hostess who took the order) not those who delivered, they were fine.

I blew into Fredericksburg for a whirlwind overnight stay, as I was picking a barrel of bourbon at the A. Smith Bowman Distillery in the morning. When looking for lodging, The Publisher looked like a great hotel for a whiskey-centric overnight. The location is great, just blocks from historic downtown Fredericksburg - plenty of bars and dining to choose from. Additionally the decor and vibe is very modern and masculine, which fit perfect for my trip. Room 523 was a king room and very well appointed. Zero issues with staff, the room or the bar - it was a great stay and I would not hesitate to stay here again. Cheers!

Valets, Front Desk, Bar Staff all very professional and helpful. Upon check in bed linens askew , both toilet seats left up and patio door lock broken. Comfortable bed, steamer, safe, fridge and coffee maker very nice . Offering umbrellas to use in bad weather would be a nice addition. Boutique status in my opinion requires a step above … emailed hotel manager hoping to share this feedback privately but received no response .

I am staying at the publisher hotel in Fredericksburg, I am a platinum elite MB member. The upgraded deluxe king room was next to the elevator. I was told that I would have to down grade to move. Later on my family member checked in & was upgraded to a suite away from the elevator.

The staffs are well-mannered and went beyond expectation. Alongside with that, if you enjoy fine dining, I would recommend Five Chophouse which is attached to the hotel as well. The room itself, was quite comfortable, and came with quite a lot of amenities. A few inconveniences I ran into; the bathroom had an empty bottle of soap, luckily I brought my own. Alongside that the fridge was quite dirty, and the TV remote wasn't working properly, they sent a technician to fix it, but after the TV was turned off it reverted back. Double charging, I booked the room, and paid on the spot. But, after checking out they sent me a receipt totaling 23 dollars for valet, then proceeded to charged me again for the entire room. I contacted the hotel, which had an automatic voice directory which wasn't working properly, I had to say/press zero multiple time until it put me in with a representative. The situation was reverse swiftly (as of right now, I'm just waiting for the funds to hit my account.) Overall, for a day-stay, I had an amazing experience and for when I am in town again, I would book with The Publisher again.
