The amazingly friendly staff make this pub, our Emma , was given water, a treat and a blanket, much needed after our coastal walk. We had larger, cider and coffee as well as a pizza , Mac and cheese and cheesy haggis fries, all good and well priced. Shame we don't live closer. Would definitely be back.

I had poached egg on toast followed by chocolate fudge cake with ice-cream! Enjoyed both. The atmosphere at the time of day was good and quiet! There was plenty of empty tables available! We were served quickly by friendly staff, yes will be back.

Moved to Fraserburgh in August but hadn't eaten out anywhere other than the Wimpy until today, when I visited to sample the Xmas Menu. The price was £19.50 for a two course meal or £22.95 for three courses, so not wildly over-priced in this economic climate. Had the Jingle Bell Beef Burger with brie cheese, cranberries and stuffing. The burger was cooked well, was a decent thickness and the toppings all worked well together. The chips were your big standard frozen fries, which was a shame really. Does no pub hand make chips anymore? Could have also done with a salad on the plate too in order to add some colour. Not disappointed with it, just constructive criticism. My second course was Xmas Pudding. I don't like brandy sauce so they were happy to serve it with cream for me. I like Xmas Pudding most of all the Xmas food so devoured it quickly. Again, one slight bit of constructive criticism is that the pudding would have looked less lonely on the serving plate if it had been served in a bowl instead. Taste is what matters most though! Drinkwise I had a Cruzcampo lager. Not had it before but would drink it again. Came in a very nice branded continental style pint glass. The Saltoun Inn itself is nice inside. Of course the festive decorations were still in situ and as it was busy there was a bit of wait for my first course. I don't mind that and understand it when it's busy. The staff were friendly and I would eat there again.

Check in not a good experience. Reception is in the bar where you are met by locals very much worse for wear. Our room was 206 which has a disabled bathroom which we were not informed on at check in.It is actually a wet room, with the smallest wash basin??? so got soaked even when hand washing, can’t imagine what showering would be like. The noise in the room from the boiler system was so noisy we barely slept, checked out early to drive home to shower. We would not have accepted the room but had to rush straight out so did not have time to check out room properly otherwise would have asked to move. Did not eat breakfast as we did not want to spend any more money there.

Visited for food as one of the few places open in Fraserburgh. Not sure what chain it was part of. Both ordered burgers, they did 't quite get the order right as I wanted salad and no coleslaw but was given coleslaw but no salad. Fortunately it didn't spoil the meal too much food served hot. Was tasty enough. Staff seemed friendly and most importanly it was reasonably priced.

We were aware that this establishment had changed hands from a chain to a family firm and were keen to see what it was like. It was quiet when we arrived and it is a locals pub with restaurant definitely but we were made to feel very welcome indeed by the two members of staff. The room was clean and the decor was lovely with everything we needed for our stay. Next, we decided to have our evening meal here and it was the right decision as the two burger meals we had were delicious, very reasonably priced and were so filling we had no room for dessert unfortunately. All in all a perfect stay!

I live in hotels about 6 months out of the year and have done so for more than 20, this has by far been the Worst hotel i have stayed at, freezing cold rooms, wifi non existing, towels do not get replaced, the food is far from worth the Price, and on top the lady in charge is entitled and rude… Can not recommend the place to anyone.

Went here for lunch with my partner. It's very much a local pub for local people, so much so that they serve the locals before outsiders, no matter how long you have already been waiting. The food was ok, a panini is basically a crusty baguette, although it did taste ok. Prices are reasonable, too If you're ok with the staff prioritising the locals, then it's worth a visit.
