The place is absolutely beautiful with super helpful staff. The spa was a favourite of ours and the food is amazing. Definitely would recommend for anyone wanting a relaxing trip in the beautiful New Zealand countryside.

Good food

The hotel is a 20-minute drive from Fox Glacier. I think it is the best hotel in this town. We booked a rainforest room. There are indeed trees in front of the window and behind the bed. It is a bit creepy at night! However, the service at the hotel front desk is very good, and the breakfast is also rich.

A very good hotel. The concierge will provide free valet parking. The front desk staff are also friendly and enthusiastic. They will answer and satisfy all questions. The dinner is 5 courses and the service is also very good. I am very satisfied. I will stay here next time when I go to the west coast. Will choose.

Very good, service and hardware

One of the few five-star hotels in New Zealand, the front desk is Chinese. The room is also relatively clean, the restaurant in the hotel is delicious, there will be someone to help carry the luggage when you arrive at the store, the overall feeling is good

The hotel was very elegant. The room was very large and clean. The service was fantastic. Everyone was very friendly and went our of they way to help. We have the buffet breakfast every morning and it was well cooked and delicious. We had dinner as well and it was superb

Rooms were well upholstered. Bathroom modern. Beautiful view of bush. We had a lovely time. It was relatively quiet in Franz when we were there. Five course meal was lovely as was the smorgasbord breakfast Service was also very satisfactory. We will definitely be back here !

This is a beautiful setting nestled in the rain forest. It iso relaxing to be surrounded by trees and nature and easy to forget that there were other people nearby. Our room was in a block close to the main hotel area, and was accessed via a covered walkway. It was very well fitted and comfortable. Our package included dinner on 2 nights, the food was an exceptional 5 course menu, we really enjoyed every mouthful both nights (the menu was the same both nights which meant we didn't feel we'd missed out on dishes we didn't try the first night). The check-in process was lovely, with a juice and hot towel on arrival. All the staff were great, friendly, helpful, courteous and efficient. The location was great for our booked helicopter ride, just a short walk into main Franz Josef township.

We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. Room was very comfortable and amply spacious for two people. The window looked over a sort of internal forest, while the front door looked over the surrounding landscape. We had a ground floor unit, and access from the lobby and dining area was largely via an external walkway, which added to the rustic close to nature feel of the hotel. Though it rained during our stay, the walkway was covered and provided reasonable protection. The lobby bar has a nice ambience and we enjoyed our meal at hotel restaurant. The surrounding town is quite small, but If you prefer, there are various bars and restaurants within a flat few minutes walk of the hotel. There is also a grocery store in the small town. While only minutes from the town, the location and surrounds of the hotel makes you feel more remote.
