The team at La Fontaine were simply incredible - we’ve stayed at a lot of hotels on our travels and this team were second to none! From the moment we arrived in our taxi, they couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. We started with a lovely welcome drink in the fire lit cosy lounge (it was an unseasonable cold rainy day) and then our bags were taken to our room. The hotel is a stones throw from the Main Street so ideal for exploring but a cosy retreat - a real home from home to come back to. The room was so quiet and comfortable for our short 2 night stay. The team organised dinner reservations, airport transfers and dropped us at an our dinner reservation one evening, nothing was ever too much trouble! Oh…and breakfast was also fantastic! I couldn’t recommend the team or the hotel more!

An amazing couple of nights on our way through SA. This was our first stop after a long flight. We were treated warmly, given a cup of tea in the lounge and they made available one of our 3 rooms for the cases so we could go off and explore before dinner. Breakfast was lovely, the pool area had a lovely atmosphere, rooms well appointed, service just amazing and location spot on for evening meals in Franchoeck. Definately would return.

Using the La Fontaine for our visit to the cape wine region was excellent. One road back from Main Street Franschhoek meant we could walk to all the restaurants, and tram station. The garden room was huge and nicely appointed. All the staff were friendly, engaging and happy to assist. Will use again when we visit the region.

This was our third trip to Franschoek, the first as La Fontaine - but definitely not the last. I can’t speak highly enough about the staff and service. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. We had room 6 which has its own private little patio with sun loungers just a short walk from one of the pools, absolutely perfect for us. It’s a 1 minute walk from the centre of the village and all the main restaurants and shops, but lovely and quiet. Breakfast was fabulous- one of the best we’ve had. Afternoon tea/coffee and cake were wonderful, and very welcome after a day out exploring. We will definitely be back! Thank you all again

From our arrival until leaving the genuine helpful friendliness of every one of the staff we met was exceptional, yet never obsequious. The place is very centrally located for walking to the shops or the Huguenot museum and memorial. The main lounge was a very comfortable place to hang out with interesting, non-corporate decor. Our bathroom was huge with a claw bath and separate shower. But it’s the people that really made the difference. Great place.

This is a wonderful hotel. Beautiful gardens and pool areas, helpful and friendly staff, delicious breakfast, and comfortable bedrooms. Excellent access to Frranschoek, the Main Street is within easy walking distance. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Absolutely amazing experience. The staff here are wonderful. Special mention to Cecelia and Franklyn who gave us the extra personal touch. The hotel is perfect for walking into the centre of Franschhoek and nearby to many fabulous wineries Lovely pool and room - we stayed in a deluxe room with bath Food at breakfast was great, cooked to perfection Will be returning next summer. Thanks for such a fab stay

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon and loved the hotel's setting right off the Main Street of Franschhoek. The hotel was incredibly comfortable, they staff was so helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was a great way to start the day. Highly recommend for anyone staying in the winelands!
