Le Méridien Frankfurt

Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Frankfurt|0.67km from Die Welt
We stayed here for one night before we flew out of Frankfurt home to the U.S. I picked it because it was right across the street from the train station (or so someone told me). It's technically not ”right across the street.” You need to cross the street and walk maybe a block, turn left and it's right there, just in case you're like us and dragging luggage with you. There are also taxis that just sit outside the hotel if you ever need one. We are also Bonvoy members and I had enough points so that I could pay cash and points for this hotel. I reserved a junior suite because we needed a room that could accommodate us and our 12-year-old daughter. It is surprisingly difficult to find this in Europe. I called the hotel when I booked the room maybe a month or two in advance to make sure that the junior suite could indeed accommodate us and I was told it would (the pictures of this room on the Bonvoy website are not clear--where exactly in the room is the extra bed? There isn't one. It's a rollaway. This is why I called). When we arrived, there was some confusion or a problem with getting our room with an extra bed, and that's when I reminded them that I specifically called the hotel and asked if such a room could accommodate us and I was told yes. Whatever the problem was, they got it sorted out and we had a rollaway delivered to our room when we got up there. My suggestion is that if you need an extra bed(s) for your kids, call them the day before you arrive to (re)confirm that there will be a rollaway and/or the room you reserved will indeed accommodate your family. The junior suite is not very big, but it was fine for the three of us for one night. It's true that the hotel is not in the nicest area, but you can walk to the Rhine and restaurants. If I were staying more than one night and didn't have to fly out early the next morning, I would have stayed farther in town. The bed was very comfortable. I thought the breakfast was good--at least it was a lot better than the breakfast at the other hotel where we stayed before coming to Frankfurt, lol. The eggs were not rubbery and overcooked, and the food selection was just better overall.

I was here for 1 night on a quick business trip through Frankfurt. The location from the main train station was my initial reason to stay here, and it is very close - just an extra block away from the Le Meridien. Easy walk with luggage from Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof to both hotels. Roomers is very trendy and non-discrete. So much so I guess I was not dressed 'trendy' enough for the door person to help open for me while rolling my luggage into. But I digress. The staff I interacted with were all very nice and friendly, including the front desk and restaurant. I did not have an opportunity to try the bar on this stay. Why I gave this 2-stars is for the room... I was ”upgraded” to a ”quieter room” with my Elite Status, which I appreciated upon check-in. The room itself was fine with very dark interiors and roomy enough for 2 people. There was a place for luggage, desk area and comfortable bed. The bathroom was a good size with plenty of sink space and large shower. There were, however, no USB ports or easily accessible plugs to charge your phone at bedside without moving furniture around. And why I will not stay here ever again is the lack of sleep from the thumping music until 3:30AM in this upgraded ”quiet wing of the hotel”, as well as a very warm room temperature that never seemed to cool down all night. The thermostat said 22, but there was never any cool air coming out so I doubt the A/C was working. And the bass from the music was so strong it was making items on the desk move and create noise until 330AM. Waking up for an 8AM meeting with little sleep, and having to get dressed in a very warm room was not enjoyable. The hallway and lobby were cooler than inside my room. I wanted to like this place, but quality sleep is important to me. So I will try another hotel next visit.

My husband and I are still staying here at this hotel while we visit family all week and we won't be staying here again. Our room has two TV's in it, both of which constantly turn off and restart, or just freeze on a black screen. We asked for help and nothing happened. The weirdest thing is that there are absolutely no movies available to purchase and no capabilities for streaming. Last night we watched a movie in bed on my laptop like we were in college! The TV is not our main priority on our trip, but we were looking forward to watching stuff together in the room on our vacation. Instead we get a choice of CNN, BBC, CNBC, or Bloomberg. I've stayed in motels with movies available to purchase! Just felt really weird to be paying for 6 nights thousands of dollars and no options and NO plugs for charging by the bed. Olivier and Dominick are awesome and thank goodness for them! Oh, and when you arrive with your car there usually is no valet outside...both times we didn't want to leave our car outside unattended but no one came out so we had to go in. My final thing....I had a headache and they didn't have anything, my husband had to walk to the pharmacy. We aren't too lazy to walk but when you are staying at a so-called 5 star hotel and you don't have headache medicine, no streaming capabilities or media selections...Not worth the money! Special shoutout to Olivier and Dominick who are AWESOME!!!

I preferred to stay in this hotel with my daughter due to its location (very close to the train station), but walking from the station to the hotel I realised that it was a bad idea. It does not matter if it is day or night you see addicted people smoking drugs, you see dealers all around and the smell of the streets are awful. My daughter was so frightened about the location. In addition to that the receptionists were impolite, insensitive and ignorant. I was in a hurry to rush to the airport due to the last minute strikes in Germany including Frankfurt transportation. After checking out around 1200 pm I forgot my backpack on the sofa in front of the front desk. I realised that when I reached to the airport. I quickly called the hotel to ask their help as my wallet and our passports were in it. I called 3- 4 times and talked to the receptionists to describe my backpack and get their confirmation. Both receptionists confirmed couple of times that my bag was not there. They claimed that they checked and it was not there. I also asked them to check the room in case I was mistaken, but they did not call me back to inform me about its whereabouts. After having almost a heart attack on the way back, I reached to the hotel and saw my bag there. This is totally unacceptable. Staff should not be that ignorant and insensitive. Just checking the sofa in front of them (probably 1-2 meters away from the desk) should not be that difficult. When I showed them my backpack, they just said in a very insensible way that they thought it belongs to someone else! It is a shame as the hotel itself is nice, clean and well equipped.

This hotel does not live up to its name. For starters, it's in a very sketchy part of town, close to the main train station. We tried to check in, only to learn that no rooms were ready. So we went exploring and came back a few hours later. The room was horrid. The old SHAG carpet was filthy and worn out, so much that I left my socks on until I got into bed. The shower was grossly unclean on the floors and walls, and never did get enough hot water with poor pressure. The soap dispenser in the shower and the one by the sink were both broken - you'd press on it for a pump of soap and it would fall apart. There were no glasses, no cream for the coffee/tea, only one thin set of towels for two of us, only body lotion, no conditioner. The bathroom window was not covered, giving a clear line of sight from the toilet to the next building. The draperies did not close fully, also reducing privacy. There is a huge glass panel between the head of the bed and the bathroom, so if you're trying to sleep and someone needs the light on in the loo, it will wake you up. The door did not latch properly, had to wrestle with it to be sure it was locked. We were denied breakfast, despite our reservation stating it was included - they said we cold opt to pay for breakfast instead. The front desk staff were barely competent in English, a shame for a central hotel in a busy city. Cannot recommend.

This place was one of the few with room available after a flight disruption to my final destination so I have to sleep here to continue my trip day after, fortunately a taxi took me there. The first impression was that the area was not safe at al and in the outside was drug dealers. I came like at almost midnight so I was hungry I just want to take a bite before go to bed. The guy in the reception was very kind and suggested that I could walk to the train station nearby where were several choices for eat, I reply: are you crazy? With those guys selling drugs outside? He just laughed, I believe they are pretty use to this environment then but me as a foreign woman, alone at that time of the day, was not at all agree to expose myself in that way. So he try to help me and we call several places to order delivery and 90% was closed and the only 2 places open didn’t take credit card. So in my desperation run to the train station and run back, I still believe he could aloud me to make a sandwich which some ingredients they use for the breakfast and charge me for it but he say was not possible, I just can’t understand how difficult could that be. Anyway I just run to the room wich was the first one( first floor) so the first thing I notice is that my window give straight to the drugs dealers was seating outside, the hotel was full so I had to stay in that one. I was a bit suggestioned coz of the facts so I check the windows and locks, I find hard to sleep, and when the tiredness almost defeated me, was sirens, guys fighting beside window and so on. Horrible night, and I think I had to pay for it!. Breakfast day after was nice and condition of the room too.

The hotel is near Frankfurt Central Station, a five-minute walk away. You can also walk directly from other Frankfurt attractions. However, there is a red light district behind. It is recommended that single girls go around as much as possible. The front desk of the hotel is very good and enthusiastic. The breakfast is very rich and I like their scrambled eggs

Location: Central Station is left to go left at an intersection, two or three minutes walk, the location is great. The surrounding hotel is a red light district, but it is safe and there are no strange people. Facilities: The space for the six-person room is quite large and a bit noisy. The sheets are removed by themselves. Cleanliness is a bit low, it is recommended to bring your own sleeping bag. The bathroom is great, this time with slippers and bath amenities. Lobby: Free hot water hot coffee throughout the day. There is a seating area on the first floor where you can sit and chat. The front desk is very welcoming. 6 to 8 o'clock every night is happy hour, the store will have a free pizza for everyone. Buy one get one free for the whole drink and order a cocktail of 5.5 Euro. Breakfast: A breakfast for three consecutive nights. There are bread ham and a variety of sauces, and you can make homemade sandwiches. There are also yoghurt and a variety of nut cereals, which can be made into a yogurt bowl. Although 28 euros and 2 euros tax per night is still very expensive, in such a location, it is cheaper in the peers.

We stayed here two separate nights on our trip. The night after flying into FRA and the night before we fly out of FRA. We came from the US and met up with our daughter from the UAE. So we selected rooms to accommodate 3 adults. We found the hotel to be clean, conveniently located and economical. The room size was modest just like the price. The staff were friendly and helpful. They stored our bags as we explored locally waiting to check in. We did not try the breakfast but there are also plenty of dining options in the area. The train station is a 5 minute walk. We rode the S-Bahn to and from the airport. Trams were just out front of the hotel and provided quick links to Romer Christmas markets and the Apfelwein restaurants across the river. We would definitely stay here again

The hotel is very clean, just opposite the Frankfurt Main Station and about 250 meters walk. It takes a walk from the train station to the hotel. This section of the road is not very good, everyone should be careful with pickpockets. The hotel is still good, clean and tidy.
