We stayed at the Boa Vista in early August 2024 for 4 nights after catching the train there from Lisbon. The hotel for us was ideally located at Foz do Douro which is at the mouth of the Douro river where it runs into the Atlantic Ocean. Its location gave us easy access to both the hustle and bustle of the riverside Ribeira district and to the Atlantic Coast side with its beaches. By the way , in case anyone didn’t know, the Atlantic Ocean is very cold. You can easily walk from the hotel in either direction along perfectly flat riverside and coastal pavements. I would estimate that the walk from the hotel into Porto takes about a hour. The public transport in Porto is fantastic and the number 500 bus will also take you in either direction for €2.50. There is also the option of taking one of the historic trams from nearby the hotel into Porto for , I think, €6.. The hotel itself is very clean throughout.our room was sparse but perfectly comfortable with a large bathroom and a great shower. The buffet breakfast was good and would certainly set you up for the day’s adventures. An added bonus was the rooftop bar which afforded excellent views and a welcoming cold drink at the end of the day. The rooftop pool was smaller than I had envisaged but I hadn’t planned to use it anyway. We very much enjoyed our stay at the hotel and as a base of operations it suited us perfectly

This property is located in Foz do Douro, about 600 meters from the sea, 500 meters north of the Fort of San Giovanni Battista della Foce. It is a residential area, with low palaces, quite sofisticated, on quiet tree roads. The hotel is located about 7 km from Ribeira, but the distance is influential if you use the comfortable means or if you have a car available. The longs are frequented by runners and bikers all year round. The rooms are built in a palace of the end of the century, which they keep in the setting and where the furniture is involved in the conservation of the atmosphere. This is said, they have been recently built: The rooms are sufficient, and everywhere you get a pleasant cleaning. There are good quality products (including body cream) available in the bathroom. As often happens, the towels are not changed every day, and the room is not re-ordered. In reward, a wide European breakfast (sweet/salate) is served on the ground floor. The lady at the reception, from the great kindness, speaks little (we imagine not knowing English perfectly), but it is careful and easy to answer her doubts. This hotel is a hotel that is a hotel with a very good quality and a good price.
