Hotel Boa - Vista

Stayed a few nights. Good location to go for a run. Breakfast decent.

Fabulous! From the warm friendly welcome to having to leave. Absolutely loved our stay, breakfast was a feast! The hotel is spotless, with the friendliest team. Pool, rooftop bar….location…Just loved it and we can’t wait to return!! It was the perfect spot to visit Porto as it was peaceful, next to the sea, surrounded by wonderful walks and restaurants and easy access to to the bus and tram into the centre (tram stop outside the most delicious pastel!!)

We stayed at the Boa Vista in early August 2024 for 4 nights after catching the train there from Lisbon. The hotel for us was ideally located at Foz do Douro which is at the mouth of the Douro river where it runs into the Atlantic Ocean. Its location gave us easy access to both the hustle and bustle of the riverside Ribeira district and to the Atlantic Coast side with its beaches. By the way , in case anyone didn’t know, the Atlantic Ocean is very cold. You can easily walk from the hotel in either direction along perfectly flat riverside and coastal pavements. I would estimate that the walk from the hotel into Porto takes about a hour. The public transport in Porto is fantastic and the number 500 bus will also take you in either direction for €2.50. There is also the option of taking one of the historic trams from nearby the hotel into Porto for , I think, €6.. The hotel itself is very clean throughout.our room was sparse but perfectly comfortable with a large bathroom and a great shower. The buffet breakfast was good and would certainly set you up for the day’s adventures. An added bonus was the rooftop bar which afforded excellent views and a welcoming cold drink at the end of the day. The rooftop pool was smaller than I had envisaged but I hadn’t planned to use it anyway. We very much enjoyed our stay at the hotel and as a base of operations it suited us perfectly

This is my third time at this hotel in 6 months (it’s location is convenient for a project we are working on). Asked for an iron (for my clothes) the first time. Was told it did not exist but they were working on it. Asked on my second visit for an iron and was told a very complicated story of an ironing service that potentially could deliver 24 hours later but not on weekends. Asked on my third visit and was told that if I took a 30 minute ride by taxi (with my clothes) I could iron them myself and then should make it back to the hotel before midnight (with a different taxi). Get real people! Why is this hotel incapable of offering an iron? For the rest, rooms are mediocre at best, breakfast ok but forgettable and service somewhat incomprehensible. Porto is - by the way - gorgeous!

Lovely location in Foz for people who prefer to stay somewhere calmer than the centre of Porto. You can catch a 500 bus nearby or the tram (about 500m from hotel). The hotel is near the beachfront and overlooks a castle. The best points are the panoramic roof view out to sea, bar and pool area. There is some underground parking available. The staff were extremely helpful and even helped us get our car out of the garage. We had a large vehicle (Toyota Hilux double cab) and managed to park it in the underground car park. If you are a confident driver you can get it in. The hotel was extremely clean. Breakfast was busy but still managed to appear calm. This is a good hotel for the price in a good location. The rooms were a little hot but you can open the windows. Would we come back? Yes.

Our stay at the hotel was September 2023. At that time there was no noise due to construction. I read some reviews that noted this. We wanted to stay at the ocean and this was a great choice. The distance to town is short and a bus or trolly stop is nearby. We took the bus often which was easy. Walking along the beach we found some pavilions and one was a lively restaurant. Nestled in the rocks, beach front access, live DJ and food and drinks. There are also a handful of restaurants close to the hotel which we liked. The hotel is clean and a solid 3 star hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and self serve. The room had a nice view of the ocean.

Lovely hotel just outside of Porto at the coast, a vintage tram or the 500 bus gets you into the city it’s self so it couldn’t be better placed. Rooms were great and well cleaned. We payed a little more for a room with a a sea view and it was worth it. Would recommend, lost out on the 5 stars as the staff were adequate fell short of excellent in their friendliness and willingness to help. For example went to the bar to ask for two glasses to enjoy a port we had bought during the day, was told no despite having had a few drink in the bar before that.

Our first stay on the Camino out of Porto. Great stop after a short day from Porto. Great staff and clean room with balcony. Great rooftop bar/lounge. Right next to the Camino and plenty of Restaurants.... especially A Capoeira . Top Notch.
