We got married at the Fowey hall hotel in October with exclusive use of the hotel and it was a truly magical experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the day and our 3 night stay. A big shout out to Michaela, the Front of House Manager, and Ellie the Wedding and Events Manager who made sure the day went perfectly. We would also like to mention Christian who served us for our wedding breakfast taster a few months ago as well during our special day. We had a beautiful three course wedding breakfast - the food was of great quality and in huge portions. The rest of the food throughout of our stay was also to a very high standard and we would definitely recommend an evening meal at the hotel. For each night of our stay the rooms were clean and very modern. On the night before the wedding my bridesmaids and I stayed in the Violet and Louisa rooms, which were perfect for the occasion as they have an interconnecting door and plenty of space for us to great ready in. My husband stayed in the Badger room in the courtyard with his best man which was themed to a wind in the willows aesthetic. For our wedding night and the night after we stayed in the Lantic Bay suite, which had beautiful views out across to Polruan and the sea. The room was incredible and we look forward to staying there again one day. We also visited the spa a couple of times over our stay and this, like the rest of the hotel, was clean and well furnished, and very relaxing. In summary, the Fowey Hall Hotel was the perfect setting for our big day and we are very glad to have chosen it as our wedding venue. We would thoroughly recommend it to any couples looking for a place to tie the knot!

Perfect family hotel! We visit Cornwall every year but this was our first time staying in Fowey Hall over half-term with our seven year old and five month old. The hotel was very accommodating, everything we needed for baby was in the room and also a yoto player to keep our oldest occupied. There was lots of activities, my son particularly enjoyed swimming in the outdoor pool, story time with cookies and milk, and visiting the rabbits. Fowey is beautiful, it’s a short walk from the hotel to the beach and there’s a route which is pram accessible. We recommend walking the Hall Walk with Cornish pasties! Great hotel for a bit of rest and recuperation if you are post-partum. Will definitely be returning!

After extensive research we decided to book this hotel as a special treat. We had booked a 3 night stay in a Deluxe Seaview Room. On arrival we were allocated a room above the Spa in a block separate to the hotel with a glimpse of sn Estuary view. Unfortunately, the room had heating issues with hot air entering the room and the air conditioning was not working msking an unbearable nights sleep. After talking to reception it was frustrating to discover this was a known problem in those rooms and it took until late afternoon to sort a new room which turned out to have the view we expected. Communication following our visit and recompense for the inconvenience was inadequate which is a shame as we feel although the hotel and location are lovely the customer service experience did not match expectations.

Just returned from an afternoon tea celebrating our anniversary. Never been so disappointed sandwiches had little to no filling hadn't got a clue what the cakes were as we were not told but were tasteless. All this was served on a very small table had to take water glasses off to make room. I have enjoyed afternoon teas all over the country and this has got to be the worst then to add insult was charged an additional surcharge which hadn't been mentioned. I am a local and would not recommend this to anyone no wonder tourists are staying away totally shocking.

Me and my partner were literally blown away with how friendly and welcoming all the staff were at this hotel. One member, Diane went out of her way to make our son’s 4th birthday extra special. She put up a banner and balloons for him in the morning. Every member of staff we came across wished him Happy Birthday. He was made to feel so special. We booked our son into the 2 hour complimentary child care at The Den. He had the absolute best time! We were very impressed. The facilities like the games room, cinema room and swimming pool were brilliant. Added touches like milk and cookies in the evening for each child was adorable! Food was really great quality! Everything had been thought of in our room to make staying with a child stress free. Including complimentary baby monitor and a Yoto player with heaps of audio books! Overall we had the loveliest time, our son had the best birthday, and we would 100% stay again. A massive thank you to all the staff for making us feel so special!

Just stayed for a Saturday and Sunday night, on our own. Didn’t take the kids or the dog. A very picturesque location and a warm welcome from Katie on reception who showed us to our deluxe room which was very nice with a great view. The staff were great. However we won’t be back. The Hoover was obviously away being serviced and the restaurant had more of a cafeteria vibe. We arrived for breakfast at 1015 on Sunday and were directed to the family dining area as the other was being prepared for lunch. It looked like a minor riot had occurred or possibly a visit from St Trinians school girls. I tiptoed across the floor to my appointed table avoiding the cutlery, napkins and food on the floor. It appeared that we had narrowly missed feeding time at the zoo.! So, the kids the dogs and oh yes the small beer at around £7.30 — a pint of the same which in the town could be had for £5. No, I don’t think so.

The hotel is of an excellent high standard with regards to decor, food and staff. However, I would not recommend it for couples or singletons who are wanting luxury and peace. Whilst we can accept that family is the ethos of the hotel and you wholeheartedly embrace and accept children in all areas this does not mean than children should be able to ruin others experience and parents be allowed the slack off being ‘parents’. Children running around the dinning hall, pool areas, bar, up and down stairs. With no basic standards or rules to uphold it was often an unpleasant experience, with lack of respect for other paying guests. Parents not being held to account for actions of their children. There were also inconsistencies with regards to the adult dinning area, as young children were often seated there making the website claims redundant. On the other side, if I was visiting with my husband and children it would be fabulous family hotel. However if my husband and I fancied a quiet few hours whilst the children were in the den - we would be faced by other peoples noisy children either in the spa pool or terrace. Having no adult only area not only hinders couples but for those parent who require the peace and quiet whilst their own children are in paid care. Unfortunately due to this we would not be returning, and would strongly consider whether we would visit as a family if that meant no quiet moments for us as parents. Overall if these minor changes were made; adult only area (just one!), spa pool time for adults, and upholding the adult dinning area consistently. This would be a fabulous experience for all!

We have visited Fowey Hall for dinner on many occasions over the last 12 years. Sadly tonight's will be our last. We booked the restaurant for our wedding anniversary as we do most years. On arrival we were shown to what I can only describe as a children's dining area, the floor of which was littered with food and mess from previous little diners. I asked the person who had shown us to the table why we could not sit in the main restaurant, as we normally do, he said it was fully booked. I said we had booked a few months ago, so why were we not able to sit there. He advised that you couldn't chose where to sit. I said, we have never been seated in the children's area before. Eventually, he said we could have a table as long as we vacated by 7.30pm. At 7.30pm we had to ask for the bill and at that point most of the tables were still empty. Our evening was completely spoiled by the way we were treated. It seems that Fowey Hall is no longer what it used to be.
