Was supposed to stay 12/23 - 12/30, but left 12/29. This place has really gone downhill!! We have been staying here exclusively since 2105, but we won't be staying here again. I loved the convenience of having a kitchen, but at $1,205 for the stay & it now seems overpriced. Especially since they no longer do the breakfast buffet - which is understandable with Covid & the CA restrictions; HOWEVER, the crappy ”brown-bag” breakfast is horrible. They don't ask what you want OR offer 2nd/3rd options. Example: 1 pre-packaged banana-nut muffin, 8oz Nestle water, 1 small, bruised red apple, 1 brown sugar chewy granola bar (so much sugar-gross). My husband has a nut allergy and is doing keto (almost 60 lbs lost - good for him!!) So basically you can eat this unhealthy/dangerous ”breakfast” or too bad for you per Sonesta. At least give people 2nd option, geez (hardboiled eggs last non-refrigerated!) No housekeeping the entire stay. Trashy long-term occupants, cigarette butts & dog $hit everywhere. Example: long-term across from our room - with pet - would stand in the hallway area & chain smoke & talk on speaker/cellphone. Where she stood all day/every day were tons of cig butts & dog poop - there is no way Sonesta didn't know about this person - and she wasn't the only one. Any way, I could go on, but I won't. Just wanted to give people a heads up that this really is no longer Marriott & spend your $$ elsewhere.

We stayed here because they were the only place that would let me stay with my cat while we were waiting to move into our new home. Our short stay turned into 20 days too long. Well let’s start with there was a weird smell in the room when we entered, like a damp smell. My husband kept saying the room felt wet, which I thought was strange. After a few days in the room, there was a big puddle coming from under the fridge. I thought it was my dogs water bowl. Well after three days of this, come to find out it was coming from the wall. The air conditioner backed up due to old filter. The carpet was soaked. I am the one who figured out where the leak was coming from not the hotel. I was not offered a different room, and really didn’t want the hassle. I asked for the carpet to be cleaned but I never happens. The carpet is filthy. The bottom of our feet were a grey color when we would walk around. Gross. There are dead rats throughout the property. Me having to point them out to staff. One stayed on the grass for about 1 week. The concrete needs to be powered washed. The bathrooms need to be updated. The BBQ outside had a sour smell that you could smell when you walk by. There are large gatherings at the fire pit on the weekends, which are not following CoVID guidelines. My room keys would would intermittently. The bagged breakfast is not worth it. They only clean the rooms 1x a week if you ask. You have to call for towels. Only 1 roll of toilet paper in each room. I bought my own. You have to make reservations for the pool, which is really inconvenient. The only positives: Some staff was friendly, beds are comfortable, it is quiet. Atleast in my building.

So 2 of my colleagues and myself, checked in on 1/3 for a company training for one week. The company paid for room, tax, parking and breakfast daily. I was asked for my card for incidentals (who even has incidentals anymore since everyone has a cellphone and a Netflix account, but I digress). My card was charged $1,000 for incidentals. Yes, you saw that correctly, $1,000. When I called down to the front desk, I was told it was a mistake and they apologized. They also comped my dinner for the evening. No worries, continued my week of training. I noticed however, at the end of the week, the $1,000 was still on my card. When I asked why, I was told by a different front desk agent that the hold was put on my card ”just in case my bosses card did not go through.” What? So if I was traveling on vacation, would they ask for my best friend's card ”just in case my card didn't go through?” Again, the apology, and EVENTUALLY the money was put back on my card. Fast forward to our 2nd week of training. This time, I called the hotel directly to express my displeasure with the previous week. I was assured that there would be no issues. And was told they had staff that was training. Myself and my same 2 colleagues check in again on 1/10. I give my card for incidentals. A $40 hold this time. Perfect! We are off to a great start. The stay went well. And no issues when checking out. Until today. There is a $20 and a $48 CHARGE, not a hold, to my card. I call the hotel, and was told the $48 was for parking and they have no idea what the $20 charge is for. What? So they did a credit for the $48, but said I need to call the bank for the $20. Marriott is normally my go-to for travel but i have never heard of this crazy policy of charging a guest's card ”just in case the company card declines.” Needless to say, I will be letting my company know about this. They should definitely find another hotel to put employees in when coming to town.

The hotel is very good, spacious and comfortable, and free Western-style simple buffet, which is richer than most dishes of the same grade I have been to. There seems to be no convenient public transportation nearby, suitable for self-driving. Free WIFI and parking lot.
