La Serena Hotel Fdm

We have a house in Tuscany, and when we come here in the summer, we take a couple of days here and there - and we found this hotel by accident. It is so nice. We found out, the hotel has been fully refurbished and what I can see they are about 70% done. It all looks and "smells" very new, paint and carpets and so on; clearly a lot of money is spent here. The management are correctly going for a soft launch. I recall in the late 80s a refurbished London hotel went for a full blown launch and they suspended it after 3 months - and reopened 6 months later. A disaster. I suspect in 2024, this hotel, will be up to speed. I would describe this place a "quiet boutique hotel", I am not sure how many rooms, but I guess 60/70. The entrance / reception area is cool and funky. Quality oozes with great interior designs. The bar area, table and chairs are top quality and again, terrific design. The bar looks like something out of New York. I have never seen so many liquors. Adjacent is a mind boggling wine cellar, at a precise temperature; so cool. We had dinner outside, again very well set up; it was funny, we were the only evening diners there!! The dinner was terrific. Great flavors. Good portions. Terrific chef. Breakfast was okay. The buffet was okay but could have had more fruit and choices, for example smoked salmon. I am sure 2024 Summer there will be improvements. The bedroom were interesting. The owners have rightly so merged two small bedroom into one. So, the result is two bathroom and plenty of space. Not much furniture, but again, I am sure there will be next year. Big TV. Lots of wardrobes. Bed amazing. I slept for 10 hours !! (And I was not boozed up) Bathroom very high end. Small but really nice. A balcony overlooking acres of pretty houses and lovely amazing tree. This place is soooo quiet. Great pretty botanical garden and pool. There is a need for better table and chairs around the pool as I have an old broken hip and cant lay down easily on a lounger .On the roof is a lovely terrace of grass and seating. I am told they are looking to include a roof bar next year. Staff a bit on the low side, but all were warm and friendly. We chatted a few times to the GM. Very nice guy. Very experienced in the hospitality industry. We look forward to seeing him next year. And he will. Go there.

One of the best hotels in forte dei marmi , new’y refurbished and setting new standards in the forte dei marmi area Impressive rooms, bathrooms , amenities and service . Great garden Great bar . Stefano the general manager truly cared about our experience and it was genuine Hope to be back soon.

It’s rare that one gets to get an experience this wonderful ! Rooms beautifully decorated (and with Japanese toilets!!) , food to an excellent standard and most importantly a wonderful atmosphere that fills you with joy. Steps away from the beach and with trees surrounding the hotel that make you feel in wonderland! Oh what a divine experience this has been without a doubt!

This brand new 4 star hotel should really be a 5 star rating. We have been coming to forte dei Marmi for the last 20 years. We have stayed at Grand Imperiale, Augustus, Byron, California, Roma Imperiale and Negresco. La Serena has become our new favourite hotel in Forte. It feels like an ultra-luxurious home away from home. The staff are incredibly friendly and never say , “no” to any request. The manager is very friendly and very approachable. Its ambience truly lives up to its name, being an absolute oasis of tranquility and relaxation. The interiors are chic, colourful and beautifully thought through. Everything is new. Every meal in the hotel was exceptional. Delizioso! Rooms are very clean and comfortable. The blackout electric shutters are dangerous as you sleep so well… too well as it is so quiet also. Marble tiled bathrooms all have Japanese style toilets and l’occitane products. Early evening aperitivo was a highlight for us and our teenage children enjoyed the yummy nibbles before dinner. The hotel is just 2 minutes bike ride from the beach and 6 minutes from the centro. There is a delightful weekly market around the corner every Friday, and in forte dei marmi centro on Wednesdays and Sundays. We came with our 4 teenage children 14years and +, and they kept busy relaxing at the pool, beach, ping pong, tennis, some board games and more. We didn’t need a car during our stay and used the complimentary bikes to get around. Unlike other hotels, this one prides on making you feel at home. Minibar, bikes, water and more are all included. The filtered-bottled water continuously available is a great concept that all hotels should adopt both for sustainability as well as affordability for guests. We can’t wait to come back to this great find and look forward to a gym being added by next season.

Hotel was refurbished in early 2023. and is in soft launch . We were positively surprised .. Although it has a 4 star rating it can be a five star given the design and services provided . We were amazed at the branded furniture and modern design feel. All bathrooms are modern and in carrara marble with japanese toilets which is a definite plus and a first for us in italy. The minute you enter the hotel you feel you are in another place , the scents the lemon trees .. the art . The bar is something out of london or paris and the drinks were great. The general manager was always there to accommodate our needs at any time . Most importantly we felt the hotel is modern and clean - we like the classic feel of forte but some hotels have not upgraded to adjust to modern necessities of a global traveller - this hotel has and that’s important We have stayed in many hotels in forte and this now is one of our favorites in the area . the location is ideal given the proximity to our favorite beach club in forte ( gilda) and is in a quiet area where there is not front street traffic . will definitely be back

I had an incredible stay at Hotel La Serena in Forte dei Marmi. The hotel beautifully blends Forte’s traditional charm with modern amenities for today’s travelers. From the moment I walked in, the friendly English-speaking staff made me feel welcome. The ornate lobby, adorned with curated art, a library, and a game area, was perfect for both relaxation and socializing. Special shoutout to Stefano, the GM, and Luca, the front of house manager, who were exceptionally accommodating. The hotel’s concierge service was top-notch, arranging everything from dinner reservations to boat trips. The partnership with local beach clubs, especially Gilda’s just steps away, added to the convenience. The spacious bar area, offering indoor and outdoor seating, was a great place to unwind. ***a’s delightful coffee drinks and scrumptious crepes in the morning were a treat, and Alessandro, the bar manager, concocted exceptional cocktails and presented an extensive wine list during aperitivo time. I was particularly impressed by how well-suited the hotel was for multi-generational families. During our stay with children and grandparents, the proximity to the city center, accessible by safe bike paths, was ideal. Our bedroom suite, complete with a large bathroom and premium amenities, felt like a true home away from home. Hotel La Serena offers a perfect blend of comfort, elegance, and convenience in the heart of Forte dei Marmi.

My family of 9 were on our way to airport to go back to England but wanted to stop quick go see tower of Pisa. Came back to the car and all of our luggages and hand bags and back packs had been stolen: everything ! Half of us had their passports on them and made it home but 4 of us had to stay behind until we could make it to American and British embassy in Milan. This hotel welcomed us with open arms without a reservation and turned such a bad situation into a great one. We spent most of our time by the pool or walking down the nearby free beach. Lots of restaurants around and locals are all very friendly and welcoming as well. Thank you for your hospitality it was amazing !! We will be back.

It was a genuine pleasure to return to Le Pleiadi after a covid enforced absence of three years. The warmest of welcomes and a delightful room made us feel delightfully at home. We were very grateful for the attentive, helpful service throughout our stay - reception particularly helped by booking restaurants, vehicle rental, bikes etc. In all the perfect home from home.
