Chimpundu Lodge

Our stay at Chimpundu Lodge in July 2025 was unforgettable from the moment we arrived. Despite our delayed flight and late check-in, Tracy and Bridget greeted us with warmth and care, staying late just to welcome us and make sure we settled in comfortably—a gesture that set the tone for the rest of our stay. Set right in the heart of the rainforest, the lodge blends seamlessly into its lush surroundings and is located just minutes from chimpanzee trekking, making it an ideal base for adventure and nature lovers alike. The overall hospitality and service were exceptional. Joseph, Brian, Isaac, Mark, and Cosmos (the chef) made every moment special. Joseph and the waitstaff were especially attentive—for example, on our second night they set up a romantic private dinner on the dining room balcony, and when a sudden rainstorm hit, they had us moved indoors within seconds, saving the meal with grace and care. The grounds were immaculate, and our room was luxurious, featuring a canopy bed, bathtub, giant shower, and tasteful furnishings. We also loved the beautiful pool and steam bath, which made for the perfect relaxation. Cosmos’s food was a highlight—delicious, thoughtful, and beautifully prepared. Anyone would have a wonderful stay at Chimpundu Lodge—we recommend it without reservation!

One of the best and extraordinary hotels I ever stayed in. The food was excellent and the love for small details and excellent service blew us away. We only stayed for one night which we highly regret but we will com back.

Absolutely the best place we stayed in Uganda! Chimpundu Lodge was by far the highlight of all our accommodation in Uganda – we only wish we had booked an extra night. The staff could not have done more for us; from the moment we arrived, reception helped prepare us for our chimpanzee trek with great advice and the warmest smiles. The bar staff kept the drinks flowing (with two complimentary beers and wines each day) and were just as friendly. Dinner was incredible – fresh, delicious, with plenty of choice – if anything we were overfed! The lodge itself is stunning, with beautiful grounds where we spotted colobus and red-tailed monkeys right from our balcony. Our room was gorgeous, with a wrap-around balcony and a huge clawfoot bath I happily took advantage of. The location couldn’t be better – less than a 5-minute drive from the chimpanzee trekking area in Kibale Forest. Truly the best place we stayed in Uganda and one we would return to in a heartbeat. Also a note it was a little cooler in the evening when we visited and there was hot water bottles in the bed at night which was so lovely! Not actually needed due to the lovely covers on the bed but such a nice touch

Stupendous staff, gorgeous property, elegant bedrooms, luxurious bathrooms. Abundance of butterflies, super spa time, delicious food by a proper chef. We simply can't say enough about how tremendously the staff worked to make our stay phenomenal.

The property is a delight! I had a wonderful time with great food, rooms, and staff. Jasymin, the manager, is outstanding. The lodge is a birdwatching paradise, often spotting up to 45 species. Plus, it's only a 10-minute drive from the Chimpanzee Information Center. Overall, it was an excellent experience—I’ll be back!

Superb customer service from the staff- we got spoiled. The room we had was more than what we could ask for and the best part was the massive bathroom with a tub!! We loved the balcony facing the jungle. We enjoyed our time just drinking our coffee and tea there. We got a couples massage and although it’s not what we are used to in the States, it was great! They cleaned our shoes after we did the swamp walk and went above and beyond in making sure that we are taken care of. It is actually here that we spent the morning of our 10th wedding anniversary and per my husband’s request they decorated our bed. We were just here for a night, wished it was longer though.
