When we travel all over the USA we’ve Never had such an awful experience as we did on April 12,2024. We arrived around 10:30 to see if we could get a room for half a day so husband could get a couple hours of sleep since he had been driving with no sleep. Desk person said we had to have a room full price. Talked to someone else about getting half rate for a few hours. Answer was no. Ok I still book it with him. He was fine. But the hotel had such a dirty stench after we got our room we go inside it and it was so bad. The hallway ,room everything was so smelly you were afraid to sit down. We got because he needed sleep. The furniture was old and dirty, smelly. The linens on bed looked like they were so old and used for something else. Broken toilet seat and cockroaches in hallway . Couldn’t even clean them up. Like I said we’ve Never had any experience like this. I’m putting little better than it was. So not even an hour I think we couldn’t stay there . So we left. Went stairs to check out. Didn’t even offer a refund. But wanted me to do a review. So we will keep this receipt in case we go back through that part of S.Carolina again. Don’t even consider it this place. Don’t waste 130.00 on a room. So not worth it one bit. So we left and drove and found somewhere else to stop. Beautiful, homey and clean. AD

Every time I visited my relatives I stayed at this lovely hotel. It’s more clean hotel I have ever been in my whole life. You will see your name on welcome screen. They provided shampoo for shower, coffee available 24hrs.

Booked a room with 2 beds, but had to take a room with one king because there weren't any rooms with 2 beds available when we arrived. It was the type of king where if one person moved, the whole bed moved up and down disturbing the other person's sleep. (Why don't they furnish the rooms with kings that have two separate sections?) My wife wound up sleeping on the sofa which looked like a cat had used it as a scratching post. The adjoining doors to the next room weren't very soundproof so that our noisy neighbors kept us awake. Couldn't get the heat/ac system to work right. The room was either too hot or too cold and the windows don't open so we couldn't take advantage of the fresh air and moderate temperatures outside. All in all, we left the hotel feeling more tired than when we arrived. Won't be staying there again.

The hotel facilities are very complete, the room has a coffee machine, microwave, refrigerator, safe, hair dryer, TV, basically all the facilities are available. The room was clean and environmentally friendly, and he advocated the reuse of towels unless it needed to be replaced. Coffee and refreshments are available 24 hours a day in the hotel lobby. There are a lot of breakfasts, so I don't have to worry about this Chinese stomach. There is a big farmer's market around. The scenery is beautiful, a bit like a European town.
Courtyard Charlotte Fort Mill, SC

STAY AWAY!!! - We were traveling to the Charlotte area for my daughter's volleyball tournament and unfortunately I tested for Covid the night before I was unable to make the trip. Because I was not there to check my family into the hotel, the front desk would not let them check. I requested they email me the authorization form and I would sign it and send it back. I have done that multiple times in the past and it has been very helpful when we have been traveling from different cities and arriving on different days. They refused to send me the authorization form and told my wife she must cancel the reservation and rebook a new room to allow my family to check-in. When she tried to do that, the new room rate was over $100 more per night that the rate in which we were booked. She asked if the hotel would honor the existing rate and they declined. Needless to say, she canceled the reservation and decided to stay at a higher-end Marriott property in the area. My family was able to check right in and when she told the staff about our horrendous experience at the Courtyard Marriott in Fort Mill, they were appalled and said they would have been fired if they ever treated a Marriott member the way the other Marriott treated our family. The new hotel was also kind enough to honor the room rate we had before even though it was much lower than their room rates. Excellent customer experience from the new hotel, and I will be leaving a very positive Google review for their property. I travel a lot and have achieved Marriott Ambassador status in the past (Titanium Elite currently). Usually, the Marriott staff is over-accommodating as a result. This was by far the worst customer experience we have ever had with Marriott and will NEVER book a room again at this poorly run facility. I advise everyone to stay as far away from the Fort Mill Courtyard Marriott as possible. Horrible experience, poorly trained staff and a lousy manager that hates her job.
