Una estrella por una horrible experiencia que pasó en el bar de la piscina con Valentin. I have to leave this bad review due the LAME and DISRESPECTFUL “service” we got from the said “manager” Valentino from the pool bar. After a long while unable to order a coke to my mother came this guy Valentin (who was extremely rude from his very first approach) and started he yelled “YO SOY EL JEFE AQUI” y cosas como “aqui se hace como digo yo” and because he was so rude we tried to ask the coke to the other waiters and this Valentin stopped and said he forbid all other waiters (who were trying to help) and again saying out loud and in a brutal way “nobody brings any coca-cola to this table”. He also mentioned “and don’t try to go out without paying because we have your room number”, this was personally SO SO OFFENSIVE, as no one has ever mentioned at any moment that intend to not pay anything, (and we had everything in our room account anyways, so it did not even make sense), and i got so upset and my 90 yo grandma was scared of the manager, and my mother was asking him to calm down, we just wanted one more coca-cola with our food and my dad of course so upset. All of the customers from other tables were so uncomfortable and looking, and the staff as well!! It was a pity, because we were having a great time till this moment. But a RUDE service ruins everything.

We booked the hotel Riu la Mola as a package with Tui Uk,which included flights, hotel and all transfers from Ibiza to Formentera. Getting there.....We flew from Manchester on the 4th of May. After collecting our luggage at Ibiza airport, we went to the Tui desk in the arrival hall. Here we were given our ferry tickets for the trasmapi fast ferries. Also a map of the ferry terminals at Ibiza town and La Savina, Formentera. This included our (mini) bus numbers. at both locations. We were then driven to Ibiza port, where we were met by a member of the trasmapi team, who directed us to our ferry. 40 minutes later we arrived on Formentera, and found our (mini) bus at the port bus station, who conveyed us to the Hotel Riu La Mola. We were the only people travelling to Formentera, on both journeys. So well organised by Tui/trasmapi. Hotel La Mola.....The hotel is built into a hillside and on different levels, which means lots of steps from the top down to the beach. Our room was on the upper block with a great view. It is not a large room, but has a comfy double bed (sheets changed on request) and plenty of storage space, with a free safe. However no usb charging points, and only one power point. No ceiling fan, no tea/coffee facilities (as in other Riu hotels) A fully stocked minibar, with water soft drinks and beers. The air conditioning worked well. The bathroom had a walk in shower, with a rain shower attachment, one power point and towels changed every day. Also shower gel and hand soap provided. The restaurant is a good size with inside and outside seating. Breakfast is limited, with a small selection of cereals, no omelette station (As in other Riu hotels). But we always found something to eat. Dinner always had a good selection of hot food, but the salad cold dishes and deserts were repetitive. Pool(s) and snack bar. The main pool and snack bar is situated down by the beach, and while there we were always able to get a sun lounger, no matter what time of day. The snack bar served excellent lunches, which are reasonably priced, as are the drinks, and enjoyed sitting there overlooking the beach. There is also waiter service to your lounger. There is also a quiet pool between the two main buildings, but no bar is available there. The Beach.... There are sun loungers and brollies on the beach, which is managed by the hotel, but as the beach is a public space, you have to pay to use these loungers. This was 18 euros per day for two loungers and a brolly. We enjoyed this option, as there was always a cooling breeze and quiet away from the pool scene. Lounge bar. This is open in the evenings and while the entertainment was low key (which suited us) also a large outside area, to watch the sunset, prior to having dinner. Again a good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. (If you download the Riu app, you can check out the price of drinks at this hotel). However what made our holiday enjoyable is the wonderful friendly staff across all departments.

Hotel Riu La Mola Date of Stay: August 2024 Travelers: Myself, wife, and 4-year-old daughter Hotel Riu La Mola is a very good hotel overall, situated in a quiet area of Formentera. It’s about a 15-20 minute drive to Es Pujols and San Francesc, which is a smooth and lovely ride. Conveniently, you can rent a car or motorbike directly at the reception. Strongest Points: - Exceptional Staff: The first thing that stands out is the staff. They are incredibly professional and always have a smile on their faces! They were eager to help and assist, consistently in a good mood. - Cleanliness: The entire hotel is impeccably clean, including the rooms, which were spotless throughout our stay. - Kids Club & Entertainment: The kids club and entertainment team are fantastic, keeping our daughter engaged and happy. - Evening Buffet: The buffet at night is very complete—we dined there every evening and were always satisfied. - Room Comfort: The room temperature and AC were perfect, ensuring a comfortable stay. - No Mosquitoes: Despite the abundance of flowers and lovely nature around the hotel, we didn’t encounter a single mosquito. - Beach/Pool Bar: The food at the beach/pool bar is excellent for lunch. The quality is very good, and service is so quick, which is great. Areas for Improvement: - Gym Facilities: The early-opening gym (7 am) needs improvement, particularly as more guests are looking to stay active during holidays. While there is a more decent gym, it doesn’t open until 9 am, which is less convenient at least for a person like me who likes to workout first thing. - Beach Access: The beach part was a bit disappointing because you couldn’t get into the water directly. There is little sand, and a lot of rocks. You have to walk a bit further to your left or right to reach a beach where you can actually spend the day, or take the car a try other beaches from the Island, which i actually recommend. Conclusion: Overall, Hotel Riu La Mola offers good value for money. While there may be other top-notch hotels in Formentera, you’ll likely pay twice as much or more. This hotel does the job very well, especially if you’re traveling with kids. I can definitely recommend it.

We have stayed at Riu La Mola many times and have always enjoyed lovely holidays in beautiful Formentera, as a couple and as a family, with our daughter. The location is perfect, as it has direct access to the gorgeous Migjorn beach and is well placed and serviced for exploring the whole island. There are two large pools, two restaurants and two bars, one of each being beachfront. Across the board, the staff are warm, welcoming, friendly and professional. Everyone works so hard and long hours, but they are always smiling, kind and conscientious. The rooms are kept very clean and the maid service is excellent. They are fairly spacious and have most basic facilities you would require during your stay. Spa style toiletries are now also included. It is exciting that there is an extensive refurbishment scheduled for later this year, as the hotel is looking a little dated and tired. Having said that, we had an unobstructed pure sea view in the building closest to the beach, so we felt incredibly lucky and our room was also a great size. The food is always delicious and varied and there is also an option to eat one night at the beachfront sunset restaurant included during the stay. We did this on our penultimate night, before leaving. The meal was excellent. All of the restaurant staff in both locations are very attentive and courteous, as are the bar staff and the chefs are visibly working incredibly hard too. The entertainment team add a lot of personality and fun into your stay, but are never intrusive or pushy. They are amazing with the children too. We stayed at Riu La Mola for two weeks and really felt we had relaxed and recharged. I always leave a little bit of my heart in Formentera, as It’s such a magical, special island with an amazing energy. This year was no exception, as my heart was most definitely stolen.

Fabulous location, although very difficult to step into the sea from it's beach due to many sharp rocks. The beach is public & sun beds need to be paid for as an extra. The hotel is split by a little road separating the Bungalows with the hotel rooms, and rooms are now tired, and need redecorating, with air conditioning not working as it should (it was reported and temporally fixed). There are very uneven paths to and from the rooms and very steep stairs, so I would not recommend for anyone disabled. Food was good for breakfast, and dinner is same old, same old buffet style, but there is always something to choose from...and decent quality. Pools are clean and well maintained, and staff are very friendly. Overall a good experience. I would say a 3.5 star in UK terms.

Pros: nice location, excellent food at the buffet, rooms very clean e nice personnel. Cons: unlucky with the room (many things didn't work and we had no offer for compensation), the beach bar service when asked for a drink in the late afternoon/evening was never ready, the cost is a little high (410 euro/night for a standard double room) at this rate we expect a better customar care. Crazy that we have to pay for the beach beds on the beach hotel. The gym should be better equipped and bigger.

Everything was great. I couldn't have expected more. The food at both the buffet and bar was amazing.

The hotel sits on a privileged spot in Formentera. The beach is rocky but if you walk one minute to the right or to the left it is sandy and fantastic. Having said that, the hotel is badly dated and in dire need of renovation, specially the furniture. Reception staff lacks hospitality and warmth. Upon arrival we noticed hair strands on our bedsheets and had to ask for a replacement. The shower accumulated water and the wifi is very slow. Beach service, although paid, is lousy and careless: they resold our beach chairs, with our towels on it, to a third party when we went out for lunch. Upon return we had to reclaim the chairs and the towel. Awful experience. The volleyball court is right next to the beach chairs, which means you will probably be hit by the ball one moment or another. My daughter was hit on the forehead while sunbathing. The restaurant has absolutely no appeal, so go elsewhere for your meals… Lovely beach, good location, but book here only if you don’t have a better place to stay. The hotel is tired, terribly mismanaged.
