We were staying in Forbes to visit the Elvis Festival in nearby Parkes. Check in was fine. As soon as we walked in I noticed that the single bed had been slept in. The queen bed had fresh sheets, but the single bed sheets had not been changed and the bed had not even been made. It was dirty with food stains on the sheets. Luckily my daughter didn’t join us on this trip. The queen bed comforter had white stains on the underside of it. The mattress was hard and plastic, like sleeping on a jumping castle. The bathroom had multiple dead bugs on the floor and had a lot of mould in the shower. I’m not surprised as there was no fan in the bathroom so it was a sauna in there every time you took a shower. The toilet seat was very yellowed from age and the toilet brush was just thrown on the floor. The hairdryer had an inch of dust and grime on it. The sofa was covered in stains - I didn’t even attempt to go near it let alone touch it. Due to the festival, everywhere else was booked out so we had no choice but to stay as we had driven 5 hours to get there. We were charged $190 per night, even though their website states $150. When I told the man at reception about the room on the Friday, he said he would let the cleaners know. When we checked out on Sunday morning nothing had been done. Luckily I brought antibacterial spray and wipes, along with my own pillow. I definitely left it cleaner than it was when we arrived. Not where near worth the price we paid to stay there, and will definitely never stay there again.
