Kalypso Cretan Village Resort & Spa

We had a room with a fantastic sea view! It was clean and big.Friendly staff and well-maintained buildings. Everyone who works at Kalypso is great. One of the best friendly places I have been too. From morning till night, start of the holiday till the end we were always made to feel so welcome. The food at the restaurant was excellent every single day. The beach is really unique. I have never seen something like that. I highly recommend and I will come back for sure!

Collection from the airport via private taxi. Driver was very pleasant but due to road works missed the turning and added 30mins to the travel time plus helped guide driver via my Google maps. Arriving at kalypso resort a rustic rock resort unique within the area. Reception was pleasant however area is tied and stuck in the 70,s. The room was clean again outdated decor. The plumbing hmmmm if you took a bath the way they've plummed in the shower water exiting the bath entered the bathroom up through the shower plug hole flooding the bathroom and travelling into the kitchen area (Kitchen area a sink old fridge door did close properly cuboards contain nothing lol no plates glasess nothing really??!!!). Reported bathroom flooding got a pleasant apology but they seem not concerned (not good enough really). The garden view also has a sea view which was nice. Walking the complex we ventured up to the jacuzzi area a climb and a half ( But be careful the hand rails structure has corodied and if the hotel was in the UK (wouldn't have been allowed to open due to the realistic risk of a very serious accident waiting to happen) very poor and unsafe ! (There couldn't have done a health and safety review before opening this resort because it wouldn't be expecially route to this area!!!! (Jacuzzi you have to pay for hmmm 20 euros for 15min seassion) really???! All inclusive (not really ) we arrived at 2.30 pm and the restaurant was closed so couldnt even get a drink of water and the local shop was closed (hmmmm not great customer service) . The site is rustic rocky nice views great location but needs alot of money spent to bring it up to speed. 4 star that they claim but actually 2star rating is more realistic and honest at a push. Food is basic but edible chef did very well with what he had to work with and pleasant to eat buffet still breakfast and evening meal ! . We paid the local tax twice so claiming the second amount back couldn't be bothered to argue with reception when leaving. Charges allover the complex (Even the scales provided in reception you had to pay for really????) Over priced facility staff did there best especially the lady front of house in the restaurant beautiful lady nothing was to much for her very nice! (It's a shame that its a money oriented resort not much customer service) tied very unsafe in areas (Would not be open if it was in the UK. Its surprising it in Europe and the safety standard are so poor to dangerous!!!

Best hotel we have ever stayed at! I recommend this location for everyone who wants to enjoy a nice and relaxing vacation. The staff were exceptional! We truly appreciated the hospitality! A heartfelt thank you to the whole Kalypso team!

We were invited by family to join them for a holiday at Kalypso Cretan Village, which prompted me to look at the reviews. There were many bad reviews encompassing food, cleanliness, shabbiness, uncollected trash, poor service, which almost caused me to deciding not to join them. I am extremely glad that we joined them at Kalypso, because we had the most enjoyable holiday there. The resort was beautiful, the food, surroundings, service, cleanliness, entertainment were all tip-top and totally the opposite of many of the bad reviews I had read. We cannot speak more positively about the whole makeup of the establishment. We are planning to return in October next year....a good month with temperatures around 25°C.

We had such a great holiday at Kalypso.Its such a lovely resort nothing like we have ever experienced before totally remote and welcoming great for a relaxing holiday. We had wall to wall sunshine at the end of October for a week, 30 most days and sea temperature was perfect. The food was lovely and the drinks were good but you have to pay for top brands as all hotels do.We also met some great people there and as its a remote destination everybody just joined in with the craick. What more do you want at the end of OCTOBER and then return to wind rain and floods .Born in the wrong country comes to mind . Never mind going back next year .

Just returned from a wonderful holiday at Kalypso. The hotel is built on a beautiful site overlooking the sea. There are three sea water swimming pools the pools are well Kept and serviced daily. There is also the opportunity to swim in the sea at a rocky cove within in the complex. Staff are friendly and the food is high standard with a wide selection of dishes that should meet the needs of all guests. I hope to return to Kalypso at least once next year.

This place is amazing, if you like the traditional style. I was very pleased with the people that are working here, the views , the pools, the facility and the low cost to take a taxi to go to another location. For me everything was very good, the variety of food to taste, the drink’s, I was very impressed. Thank you to all the wonderful people that did for our stay an pleasant and beautiful week. We stayed 3 nights all-in as part of a tour of Crete. Having seen previous reviews we were pleasantly surprised. Room clean and spacious although bathroom could do with a makeover. Food based on local, seasonal ingredients with a good choice. AI drinks are basic but good enough. There is no sandy beach and access to the fjord is by jumping off a dock or ladders - the water can be choppy or calm depending on the direction of the wind/waves. The seawater swimming pools were clean and warm enough.

Location is fantastic, with clean swimming waters , great pools and suitable for family holiday activities on-site and accessible day trips. Food is brilliant, staff is helpful. The entertainment was very surprising, engagi g and very good.Overall a great summer experience, would love to go again.
