Hotel room was on the top floor which would give good views although the communal terrace is right outside your window. For me, it was never a problem, but I can imagine if some rowdy guests were talking or drinking on the terrace it would cause disruptions.

Found this place last minute due to a booked AirBnB let down. Certainly not disappointed. Spacious rooms, very comfortable bed, coffee and water at reception, fridge freezer in our room, great views from terrace, and very friendly helpful staff.

We stayed here for 9 days, a bit longer than the average stay. when we arrived on Saturday the 6th of April, we didn't realize it was their easter weekend. This tiny Island turned into Miami Beach on Steroids. It was great to watch the locals cruising around town showing off bikes and cars along with family's just cruising around. They had no choice all the parking was gone. It was nice on the front street just watching the world go by on the small balcony. For the last 5 day's I upgraded our room to the third floor overlooking the lake for about $8 bucks a day, definitely worth it. The upper deck is almost private for the front 2 rooms, no one comes up from the lower levels. We sat there many a Sunset drinking a beer or eating a meal we had delivered. Rooms 302 & 304. The rooms are very clean, a bit tight on the towels, but just ask for more and they will take care of you, even to replace a towel you have just been down to the lake with. Don't be afraid to ask for anything, these are great people. Several times we purchased Ice Cream or a pizza for the front desk staff on our way back to the Hotel, it helps when you help, treat someone as you would like to be treated. Unlike the previous review we didn't have as much luck with hot water over both rooms. luke warm at best. But we still stay here again. Thanks for everything Hotel Casazul.

Very cute, clean place. The staff was super friendly. The day person spoke great English. The beds were a bit stiff but I had no problem sleeping. Make sure you get a room over looking the lake otherwise the cars and bikes cruising the island will be very noise till all hours. The lake side was quiet and pretty at night with the lights across the way. Shower had great pressure and hot water. Hotel is all tile floors and old doors so you will get noise in the morning but check out is not till 1:00 so plenty of time to go back to sleep. I’d absolutely recommend this side of the island verses the other where most of the bars are.

Casa Azul has a great location, in Flores, just by the lake. The balcony has an incredible view over the lake and San Miguel, perfect to watch the sunset and chil during the hottest hours of the day. The rooms are spacious and clean, with plenty of storage space and a small fridge, perfect to keep any fresh food and water/beer. Big comfy beds, aircon available. The bathroom is also big with a powerful shower. Staff is kind and friendly. There is a small kitchen area downstairs, with coffee mugs, glasses, plates and cutlery.

I stayed here 1 night and it was a bit of a walk from the main street. I wouldn't usually mind, but because I was tired from a 6 hour tour from Tikal earlier in the day, walking a few blocks with 16lb backpack in tow in 103 degree weather wasn't really what I would've prefered to do. The reason being that vans/tour buses are not allowed past the main street because the streets are not wide enough. Once at the hotel check in was a breeze and Chonita was vey kind and informative. Not much of a view from the lobby or outside, but once I reached my room, the view of Lake Peten Itza was amazing. I was on the third floor, no elevator. Again, usually not a big deal, but I'm 47 and bad knees. Hot and tired from walking and traveling all morning, it was tiresome. The room was very clean. Air conditioning is a must and there's worked great. There's a mini fridge loaded with different types of drinks. Beer, soda. water and even offer small bottles of wine and liquor along with a price list of what each item will cost. TV, wifi worked well. My room was located right besides the outdoor community deck. For most of my stay it was empty and it was nice to sit outside and lounge reading a book and enjoying the views. At night time some other guests were out on the deck and I could hear their conversations, but it wasn't botheresome because I was exhausted from my day, I went to sleep right away. You must take advantage of the sunrise, perfect view to watch it come up around 5:30 am. I was still in my pj's and was not surprised to see more guests awake and enjoying it too. Overall experience was good. They offer free breakfast at an affiliate hotel, I chose to eat at La Casona, which is literally down the block about a 5 minute walk with a great view of the lake. Then before I left I took a swim at another affiliate hotel, Hotel Peten, which is about a 10 minute walk.

The rooms are very simple but spotlessly clean with comfortable beds. No breakfast included but there are coffee and buns available in the reception area. Rudy on reception was excellent and organised a tour to Tikal for us. The highlight is the shared balcony with views towards San Miguel.

The hotel is perfect for what it is. The staff are friendly and always ready with a smile, but don't expect English. We checked in after dark and the door was locked, but we were quickly let in. The young man at the desk was very nice. The room was clean and had a beautiful balcony. The view of the lake was really nice. The price was good. The hotel is older, but it is well maintained. Air conditioning worked well. I would choose to stay here again when I come back to Flores.
