Flores is tiny and many of the hotels are within a few blocks of each other. The Casa Turquesa provides a perfectly reasonable option for two nights on your visit to Tikal. My room on the first floor was on the small side and the only window faced a hallway, not outdoors. But who cares. Bed was comfortable, plenty of convenient electrical outlets, room was clean, decent hot water and shower. Powerful air conditioner. WiFi worked fine. Front desk assistance was hit or miss. Some were great but some didn't want to be bothered. The room had a water bottle at check in but they made me pay (about US$0.80) the second night. Not much money but a PITA when you are managing a foreign currency, as they did not give change. There is an ATM down the street but it only gave me a credit card cash advance, not a checking withdrawal. They give you vouchers for an OUTSTANDING breakfast at a hotel next door (you can eat outdoors on the lake). One warning...they do offer a reasonably priced tour of Tikal. The guides were excellent. They split it into Spanish and English groups so you didn't have to listen to a translation at every stop. The Spanish speaking guide also spoke English and was a knowledgeable student of Mayan religious beliefs. Consider timing your trip for one of the solstices or equinoxes. Although it would probably be more crowded. BUT...the van that they use for the 90 minute ride was painfully cramped. No legroom whatsoever and there is a drop down seat in the aisle so you literally can't move. I wasn't sure that I would be able to walk afterwards. So perhaps, if you are over 5 foot 7, look into more comfortable transportation. And make sure that you have local currency and passport for the Tikal entrance fee, which was 150 Quetzals (approx US$20) in January 2025. So, yes, you can stay at the Casa Turquesa and perhaps save US$10 a night over some of the other options and get a great free breakfast.

Here you shall try to get a room on a higher level to enjoy the view from terrace over great lake being next to hotel Peten and restaurant Captain Tortuga on a truly colorful and lively island Flores.

Lovely, clean hotel in a handy location. Milton on reception was fantastic, hugely helpful and knowledgeable. Close to amenities, lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Breakfast at hotel Peten next door was superb.

As part of an organized group tour, we spent two nights here. Unfortunately, it rained pretty much nonstop during our stay, so we couldn't explore Flores as much as we wanted to but the island seemed very cute and quaint, with some great restaurants and cafes. A great starting point for tours to Tikal. My roommate and I were at first given a very small double room with hardly any space to move or store our luggage. We were able to switch to a slightly bigger double room (#201), which allowed us to leave our bags without falling over them. The room was clean. The bathroom and shower were small but clean. Most of the time, we had hot water. It would have been great if the bathroom had a few hooks to leave clothes or towels. It was very noisy at night from nearby bars/nightclubs. It also got quite cool at night and I was cold with the simple bedsheet provided (I'm sure I could have gotten a blanket from reception). For me, it was an okay stay for two nights and I'm sure we would have enjoyed it more with nicer weather but many folks in our group disliked this hotel. Have breakfast at Maple y Tocino - great place!

We stayed 2 nights to visit Tikal. Awful hotel. Rooms extremely tiny. No space to move or to out the suitcase. Bathroom smelled. No hooks. Towel had to rest at the toilet. Hairdryer was not working. From 10 pm until morning NO WATER at all! Not possible to use the toilet. It the sink. Or the shower. Receptionist said that whole Flores would not have any water but other hotels did (maybe clever enough to have a tank on the roof). Receptionist very nice. Did not speak English. Extremely loud music woke us up in the middle of the night - despite earplugs!!! Disco just across the street. These 2 nights were awful. Never ever again!!!

Lovely hotel with comfortable beds right by the lake. Aircon worked well, WiFi a bit sketchy. You have amazing sunset views from the hotel and are surrounded by restaurants and bars. Good location to the starting point of all tours, as it is just around the corner. Nice little pool. Partner Hotel to Hotel Peten which has a bigger pool. Apparently, you get breakfast in Hotel Peten as well. We got it to take away, as we left really early both mornings we stayed there. Biggest downside was noise from the nightclub that is around the corner. You need earplugs or won't get any sleep until 1 a.m. The room could have been a little bigger for our group of three, not much space for our luggage. Also they didn't respond to my questions via email ahead of our arrival. The location and decor made up for it though. It was a good option for our short stay in Flores.
