Hotel Camilla Guelfa

I stayed in this property from 25 to 27 April with my family. The location is excellent, you can reach any destination on foot, very close to the centre. Ours was a new triple room, clean and with the right spaces, we had number 42. The breakfast room was a little small but had everything needed for breakfast for all tastes. We highly recommend it especially for the location

Hotel located 5 minutes walk from Santa Maria Novella station, nothing more to add. Having read the almost total bad reviews of the hotel I was reluctant to book, but it was the only one available with check-in after 10pm near the station. From the reviews read I have to be honest, I thought it was worse than what I found, and let's say luckily they assigned me a triple room, even though there were 2 of us, so I can't imagine a double. Price quite high for the quality of the hotel. If you want a 'only' place to sleep, without too many pretensions, then it's fine. The location is strategic. In my room, there was the wall toilet, fixed too high, I laugh but I had to put a stool underneath for my feet, or put my feet on the shower tub to go to the bathroom. I'm about 1.75 and sitting without supports, my feet were suspended by about 10 cm. Dangerous shower cubicle as it was made with smooth tiles, so a child or an elderly person could easily slip. I advise the owners to invest a little to renovate the structure, with small improvements it would become a good hotel. As it is, to me, it's way below average.

Definitely, among the hotels with the lowest price, but an extremely disturbing, dirty and run-down structure. It is located quite in the center of Florence. For the managers, nothing to say, kind and helpful. I think the time has come for an intense renovation, to welcome visitors on holiday visiting a fascinating city of art like Florence.
