Good feel

Very close to various attractions. The hotel environment is very good and clean. The front desk staff is very enthusiastic. Very good

The price is very inflated. I booked a triple room with breakfast on August 20th for 2,400 yuan/night (I thought it was a four-star hotel and the price wouldn't be that bad. It was really heartbreaking to check in: old, dilapidated and small, and most importantly, it felt like a mini B&B and didn't feel safe. I didn't dare to put my computer in the room). I checked in on the 27th and the actual price for the same conditions was 1,080 yuan/night. I complained to Ctrip to make up the difference (the store didn't agree, so Ctrip made up part of it). The price I checked today is also around 1,000. The room is very small, and the small elevator is old and creaky, which is a bit worrying. The bathroom is pretty good and the transportation is convenient. If the price for three people with breakfast is around 900, it's worth considering.

All in all, it is expensive and not cost-effective.

We had an amazing stay at this lovely hotel! The room was charming, with great attention to detail. The hotel is right in the middle of the city, but with the shutters closed we didn't hear any noise at all. Every member of the staff was incredibly kind and helpful, making us feel truly welcome. We only had breakfast on our last day, and we regret not trying it sooner because the cornetti were some of the best I've had in Florence! I definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a charming, authentic hotel with the nicest staff in all of Florence!

Great location and a staff early to please and assist you. And a great price to boot!!! A laundromat just outside the lobby door and a grocery mart right across the street, very convenient. An easy walk to the train station and a McDonald's with the Duomo about a 6 minute walk. A very pleasant stay.

This hotel is really a gem in Florence. The location is convenient to the train station & also the old city & Duomo. Its on a small street so away from the crowds & yet everything I needed wanted was a 5 minute walk, The staff at the hotel are the shining stars....from the moment I stepped into the hotel until I checked out they were very pleasant, efficient and helpful I cannot say enough good about them. The breakfast was plentiful with anything one could want. The seasonal fruits were my favorite - along w pastries, cereals eggs ham etc and plenty of hot coffee , cappuccino, expresso & teas.. again the ladies that worked in the breakfast room were wonderful & really kept the area spotless. My room was kept to the cleanest of standards and it was a very nice place to return to at the end of the day. I liked the hotel so much I returned for another week in July & plan on returning in November.

I recently stayed at Hotel City in June and overall, I had a mixed experience. The location is absolutely fantastic. The hotel is conveniently near the train station. From where I stay, it is also easy to access to most of the tourist attractions by foot. Even getting to Pisa is a breeze, with just a one-hour train ride away. In the vicinity of the hotel, there are plenty of amenities including barber shops, laundry services, and numerous eating places as well as shopping, which added to the convenience. The hotel itself might look a bit outdated on the outside, but it has been refurbished to maintain its vibe. The door still uses a key access system. Inside the room, there's a study desk, a single-seater sofa, a mini fridge, a safe, a wardrobe, water heater, and a wall-mounted hair dryer. The toilet is clean and new, which was a pleasant surprise. There is also a single lift that can bring you to the higher floors. However, the air blower in the room was quite noisy when set to the maximum setting, which was a bit of a disturbance. Additionally, the WiFi signal in the room was generally weak. Considering these factors, I found the rate to be on the high side. As for breakfast, I would suggest skipping it if you are on a budget. There are plenty of other dining options nearby. What really stood out during my stay was the service provided by the hotel staff. I would like to extend a special thanks to Ms. Edita for her friendly and professional service throughout our three-day stay. She truly made a positive difference in our experience. In summary, Hotel City offers a prime location and excellent staff service. If the rate can be adjusted lower, I am sure I will revisit this hotel without hesitation in my next return. Excellent hotel, very economic, ideal location. The room was pleasant, clean, and just the right temperature. Generous breakfast and very kind staff -- I left a book there and they will mail it back to me gratis! I appreciate this touch and I will return.

This was the best place I stayed in while in Italy. It was truly a close walk from/to the train station, well-located and can easily walk everywhere. Was very well pleased with the size of the room, the bathroom was exceedingly spacious and loved the sparkly blue tiles. The hotel was very clean, and thank heavens they have an elevator as I am on the wait list for a knee replacement and wouldn't want to have to walk up/down the stairs right now. Thank heavens didn't have to. The people at the front desk are attentive, friendly and very responsive when asked for restaurant tips, places to see, etc. If you do stay here, you might want to ask for a room away from the street. There is a street running in front of the hotel which seems to be pretty busy pretty much 24/7 and it can be noisy. Thank heavens didn't bother me. Breakfast was no more than adequate, and if I stayed here again, might opt not to include breakfast and go to one of the other close by restaurants/kiosks serving food. Located right by the markets and the food market/hall where the locals go to shop and eat - and just walking in the door and smelling is pretty well heaven.
