I can’t speak highly enough of Hotel Lilium in Florence. Only around the corner from train station, restaurants, markets. The rooms are perfect, basic but perfect, breakfast was top notch and the staff were exceptional especially Eva and Sano. They were More than accommodating as I was travelling with my parents who are in their 70’s and my son who is 10 for my sisters wedding and were so helpful with anything we needed. This hotel is 10/10

In my last 2 decades of traveling, this is probably the worst hotel I have visited. I got there at 7pm on a Thursday, no one was at the desk, and the gate was lock. No lobby. No place to leave your luggage. You are basically on the sidewalk. Apparently, I missed the email where they notified me that I needed to walk a block away to check in in a different hotel. After many flights of stairs in a different hotel and knocking in any doors I could find, I finally found someone who called a hotel staff to the location (took 2 hours). He came over and led me to a room with a row of beds that smelled terrible and was 90o degrees. We attempted to plug something in a wall and got buzzed. Lights went out. Candidly, it didn't feel safe. We lasted about 10 minutes in the room and decided to leave for another hotel.

I would like to share the strangeness I experienced in this hotel. It was ridiculous to have our toilet and bathroom in a separate place at the end of the hallway even though I got standard room service. I had to accept as they said there was no other place and I would stay for 2 days.

The location of the hotel is really close to train station and all attractions. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fine. The lift is temperamental, so this hotel will not suit anyone with mobility problems. Also, as we were leaving mid June, some remedial works were beginning - painters etc. So this may be a consideration for you. I would stay here again.

9 friends travelled and stayed for 2 nights. Room 1 was for 5 adults. We were given bunk beds and 3 singles. Was the size of a triple room. We had a bathroom. Couldn’t wait to get out the room. Very dated. We had 3 sockets for phone charging etc. One in the wall was obsolete and loose. Had to use the one in the bathroom. Room 2 was for 3 adults. Was the size of a small twin room. No toilet. Had to use a bathroom along the corridor which a key was issued for. Room 3 was for 1 and can only be described as a cupboard. No toilet. Had to use a bathroom along the corridor which a key was issued for. Balcony was bigger than the room. This is not a hotel in any shape of form. Very old fashioned lift - like one out of ‘are you being served’. Price was reasonable but don’t be fooled. It’s an awful place. Breakfast was very average. Location is good if that’s all you are bothered about.

Deception on the service offered. Reservation on Booking with a triple room with private bathroom. On arrival triple room with bathroom at the end of the corridor. The hotel had not specified this inconvenience at all and did not want to resolve this problem by offering us accommodation corresponding to our reservation. No compensation from the hotel or Booking (despite 45 minutes of telephone communication). This opinion is our only means of dispute. Not to mention the rain coming through the woodwork and running down the wall. Hotel to avoid absolutely for its dishonesty and bad faith.
