What a lovely boutique hotel. Rooms are small, but comfortable and clean, staff is extremely pleasant and accommodating, breakfast was wonderful. It is about a 20-25 minute walk from downtown, but a nice quiet alternative, with wonderful nearby restaurants and shopping. Our trip started in Florence, we then went to Sorrento and back to Florence for a night before heading to Rome. We cancelled our downtown hotel and came back to Hotel Emma. Wonderful value for what you get.

On arrival you do have stairs to contend with but once inside you will find a very clean and beautifully decorated hotel. Breakfast was very good and plenty to chose from and catered for all food allergies. The terrace was tastefully decorated with small orange and lemon trees. The rooms were very clean and well presented. The staff are very friendly and informative, nothing was any trouble for them , even booking a taxi etc., for our onward journey. Only a 20/25 min walk to the centre of Florence.

We arrived around 8 pm on a Sunday, but we found a cozy little wine bar (other drinks, too) just a couple three blocks' walk. Very nice bartenders, and no other tourists. Our room was very clean, if a bit small. The stairs to get up to the hotel door itself, once you go into the building were a little bit of challenge with luggage, but I'm reaching for something to criticize. Breakfast was great; lots to choose from (look at the pictures). Very nice, cozy terrace overlooking the city to sit and have your coffee and breakfast.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Emma. We received a warm welcome (despite arriving a little bit too early) and some really useful guidance about the local bus and areas of interest. The room was exceptionally clean, plenty of room, ventilation and black out curtains. The bed was comfy, plenty of hot water and fluffy towels. If you use a decent hairdryer, I would suggest bringing your own as the one provided is the hoover nozzle type and not particularly efficient for long hair. Breakfast was continental buffet which included boiled eggs and fabulous coffee. 2 important points - the hotel is up stairs and it is 20 min walk from the main attractions. It doesn’t sound far but after a day of exploring the city, it’s torture!! Taxis only run from taxi ranks so you can’t flag one down. So whilst it shouldn’t put you off as this hotel is excellent value, I would suggest becoming familiar with the bus route early on!!

I stayed in this property for 2 nights, from 16 to 18 December, with my wife. From the outside the hotel looks dated, but once inside it changes completely. The room was tidy, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast is in two star standards. The center can be reached by bus (stop a few steps away), but also on foot. Excellent location for those who need to go to the stadium. Excellent value for money. Very helpful staff

Very nice hotel, a little outside the center but easily reachable by bus or with a 20 minute walk. Room cleaned daily, bathroom a little small but absolutely functional. Welcoming and very kind staff. Minimal but excellent Mediterranean breakfast and above all: the coffee and cappuccinos are made like at the bar and not from the machines!!

I stayed in this small hotel for the All Saints' weekend with my family. The rooms are completely renovated, excellent cleanliness and the friendliness of the owner who is always available to offer excellent coffee. The center is about 20 minutes away on foot, otherwise there is a convenient bus stop right under the entrance. Excellent value for money.

Very bad experience. We booked through booking in this hotel in August in a double room. The formula was with free cancellation and payment at the facility. A few days after my stay in Florence, they sent me an email to ask us the check in time, shortly after a new email arrived saying that the reservation had been canceled because they had tried to make a prepayment on our card which had not been successful . We try calling, sending emails, both in the morning and in the afternoon but nothing, no response. I check back on booking to see if it was a misunderstanding or if the reservation had actually been canceled by the hotel and I see that not only had it been canceled but it was available again instead of €250 to €500 and more for 2 nights. A few days before departure and with payment at the facility, this behavior is unacceptable. They didn't even try to call us to let us know, they just canceled it. We immediately booked another hotel in the area and luckily found availability. Be wary of this hotel, lack of seriousness and professionalism. The hotel may be beautiful as in the photos but as a treatment they are worth less than zero. Avoid if you don't want to go back
