Hotel La Gemma

Florence Historic Center Florence|0.58km from Garbage'En
When we arrived at Hotel La Gemma, it had been opened a grand total of 15 days. But no one could tell because Gianluca, the Hotel Manager, was in charge and everything was already in full swing and running smoothly. Gianluca himself showed us to our suite and made us feel welcomed. He was warm, engaging and very helpful throughout our 3-night stay. He even showed me how to make the stamps stick on my postcard by gently peeling off the back of them - they were adhesive like stickers. Before Gianluca came to the rescue, I was licking the back of the stamps like a fast-melting gelato but they still wouldn't stick. Gianluca also patiently walked me through the Tren Italia website to book our train tickets to Venice - all on my mobile phone. Eduardo at the Front Desk was earnest, lively and of great assistance. At breakfast, Luca the waiter was very good at explaining the extensive menu and choices available. He was solicitous and anticipated our needs. We missed him when he was not on duty. The hotel’s location is excellent, right in the heart of Florence and a stone’s throw from the Post Office. It is a very short walk to Piazza Republica, Ponte Vecchio and the beautiful landscape of the River Arno. The rooms are very well-appointed; huge comfy beds with fluffy pillows, a wide array of fragrant toiletries and, thick body-encompassing towels. The impression is one of old-world sophistication and luxury. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning to Hotel La Gemma.

Residenza d'Epoca Palazzo Galletti

There are few hotel staff. I sent an email to the parking place in advance. I didn't reply to it several times. I didn't have the hotel's website (Ctrip didn't provide the website address or the hotel email address), and it took a long time to stop. The reception was quite smooth. The hotel is in the old town and it is more convenient to walk for ten minutes from the Church of Santa Maria del Fiore. The breakfast is also good, the variety is enough, the service staff is very warm, and his kitchen is always open, you need hot water to burn it yourself, there is juice in the refrigerator, you can use it yourself. The building is very old, the decoration is OK, old but not broken. The feeling of the old city.
B&B I Quattro Poeti

Although it is old enough, it really won’t live anymore. The third floor is still a four-story steep staircase. When you check in, the luggage is on the front desk. The luggage of our two girls is a 26-inch big box, a 28-inch box, and the waiters are Panting. When I left, the waiter was a heavy one. We were a small one. It was too inconvenient to have no elevator! ! ! The roof is small enough, the balcony with balcony is small enough, and the breakfast is very general.

A very strong point of this B&B is certainly its location: located in the historic center and very close to everything. However, unfortunately we expected more in several aspects. First of all the room. On the site it says you can contact them to choose the room, I contacted them but they told me that they would manage them based on availability, after which I expected them to contact me again a few days before to give me the opportunity to choose but that didn't happen. The room was very old (not vintage) not only for the style but for the lack of care of the walls and the bathroom. Second aspect, some services were missing such as: minibar in the room, radiators that only worked occasionally, absence of shampoo and shower gel samples. Indeed, in theory the ”shower gel” was present, but it was actually hand soap diluted with water placed in a dispenser (it didn't foam at all, it was evidently water). As for the breakfast, it was excellent, they gave us vouchers to have breakfast in a nearby bar. In conclusion, the location and breakfast were excellent.
Palazzo Graziani

I came to Florence to visit my daughter who is there for 3 months, and wanted to stay close to her apartment. Palazzo Graziani was a great location. Close to her, but to lots of other stuff too. I had the larger double room for single use. The room was very clean, had great light, and a charming Tuscan feel. The terrace was so nice--it was too chilly/windy to be out there as much as I had hoped but even sitting next to the windows overlooking the view was terrific. Never quite figured out the thermostat--wanted to turn heat on one night but couldn't get it to switch on, but it wasn't really cold so it was fine. The walls were thin and I was awakened by weird noises sometimes (sometimes it sounded like furniture was being dragged across the floor above my room in the middle of the night, sometimes there were loud voices outside my door).Since they're still not serving breakfast I would have loved a coffee option in the room or lobby. Overall, really loved my stay and would absolutely stay here again.

Nice hotel, near the bargello on via ghibillina. easy to get to, has a ramp to access with a wheelchair. staff were prompt and courteous. our room was the family suite and had 2 sets of stairs to access. we were told that the room was not accessible, but not why. we choose to keep it as it was easter weekend and did not want to be without a room. we made it work. the shower was quite nice and had 1 bed with 2 sleeper sofas. had a microwave, stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher, but no wine glasses? odd. has a rather nice included breakfast, and is quite easy to access various things in Florence. unfortunately, their bar is only open during special events, but there are plenty of places around to get a drink. I would definitely stay again, but would get a regular room. as for suggestions and improvements, I think they should include some wine glasses in the family suite and detail the stairs up to this room. as for people with accessibility issues, you can stay in any other room here quite easily and comfortably and I would recommend it.
