Usually you should not write a review before you have checked out, as things can still happen before check-out. But boy is this hotel a gem! I went for a ‘surprise’ room so didn’t know before arrival, what I would get. I got a spacious and beautiful garden view room with a large balcony/terrace (contemporary and yet elegant interior design). The bar is great, the breakfast is fantastic, the SPA area is sublime, I am sure dinner will be great. I seriously can’t find a flaw, maybe just that on an occasion or two, the bar staff was chatting to each other a bit too long without serving the guest, but then again that is now really nip-picking as they were all super friendly. And for EUR 250,00 a night over the weekend incl. a 5-star breakfast the price is super acceptable (I travel a lot and pay on average more than EUR 500,00 per night so Das James is certainly not overpriced). And ooohhh yes, forgot to mention the stunning surroundings at the Fjord of Flensburg. Keep it up, Das James!!🙂🙏💪

We stayed at Hotel am Fjord for one night breaking up our journey back from Denmark. It looks and feels very functional but we very much enjoyed the little touches like a kettle with tea and coffee (still unusual in Germany), a complimentary drink at the bar etc. Breakfast was very good with a variety of options and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in one the slightly bigger rooms with a bath rather than just a shower. On a wet and windy night and after several hours’ driving a good soak in the bath was the perfect way to relax before dinner

The hotel has a parking lot, and free parking is available on the side of the road. It is more convenient to drive by car. The room was very clean, the only downside was that there was no kettle. Fortunately, I was looking for a hotel. The hotel quickly helped to solve it. The service was worthy of recognition.

It was very quiet, we stayed during a less busy period I think between a Monday in late May and the first Friday in June. The bed was comfortable and supportive, the room was very clean, the service was very pleasant. We especially liked the bar and restaurant staff. We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant for one evening and the food and service were top notch. It was pricier but worth the money. We wished the room had a small refrigerator, it would have been useful. Another thing we missed that many other hotels offer was a small kettle with instant coffee and tea bags, sugar and powdered coffee cream in the room. More expensive than other hotels in Flensburg but excellent central location and no complaints from us at least not deal breaking complaints.

We were at this hotel for 5 nights in July of 2022. Very good location and good reception service. Beds too soft for me, my back hurt from sleeping in the beds. Beds were made every day and we had enogh clean towels. But even though we had no toilet paper left, cleaning didn´t put new toilet paper in the bathroom. Had to ask for more toilet paper in the reception every time we needed some more. Not a big breakfast buffet, but it was ok. However, it could sometimes be a bit slow when it comes to filling up the plates with more food. The pancakes were always cold and often not enough of them (but tasted fine)
