We stayed here for two nights on our Norway in a nutshell tour. We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is charming and very friendly. Breakfast and dinner are included and delicious. Breakfast is buffet style and dinner is a set 3 course meal. We were very impressed but may be difficult for children or picky eaters. The menu for the evening dinner is displayed in reception. There are two sittings for dinner 6.30pm and 8.30pm. Tea, coffee, and water are complimentary in reception. We very much enjoyed sitting outside with a cup of tea enjoying the stunning view. It is well worth paying the extra for a room with a view. We slept with the curtains open to make the most of it. The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk round from the train station along the harbour. Very easy to walk to. There a steps up to reception and some rooms are up another flight of stairs (no lift) which is worth bearing in mind if you have mobility issues. There is a little beach opposite (through the car park) where you can take a dip in the fjord or you can walk round to the beach on the other side behind the cruise ship dock. Flåm is lovely and peaceful in the evenings when the cruise ships have left. I would recommend booking on days with no cruise ships.

I used a travel company to book our accommodations so we didn't exactly know what we were getting. Although this is within walking distance of the train station and in front of the beautiful fjords in Flam (one of the most stunning places we visited in Norway), this hotel is basically a dump. It's not even a hotel. It's considered a guesthouse, but by American standards, I would call this a dorm room. We had a family of four and were upgraded to the family suite which was probably a 100 square feet room. The kids had bunkbeds. The bathroom was so tiny that we didn't have enough space to put our toiletries on the counter. The counter was maybe 6 inches by 2 inches. I felt extremely claustrophobic and didn't want to even take a shower because it was so tight. In fact, cruise ships rooms may be larger. The room came with breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was mediocre - a lot of bread, scrambled eggs, some cheeses. That was about it. The dinner was a set menu so we had no choice in what we wanted. They served salad and seafood (which none of us like) and dessert was called Apple Cobbler, but it was basically apple sauce with breadcrumbs on it. Our kids hated the food and we thought it was ok, but at least it was health. The second night, we skipped dinner and ended up eating a the Aegir Pub in Oslo which is within walking distance. They also don't have many outlet so charging your devices will be challenging. Flam is a beautiful little quaint town and this hotel is the best location. Just don't expect much.

Cheaper option in Flom. It was clean, the room is small and basic. OK I would say for a maximum of two nights. We had a fjord view room which I think is worth it as it madevthe room feel less small. The shower was very small and flooded the tiny bathroom. We had two small single beds that were comfortable but I was worried about fall out. Despite the walls being very thin thankfully there was no noise from other guests. The food was good and nicely presented. There is not real lounge area to sit after dinner and the only place we found to go was the Viking pub in the centre about a 10 minute walk. There is free tea and coffee all day in reception as no facilities in the room

Best location in Flåm away from the crowds but only a short walk along the waterfront to the action. Clean and modern rooms. Get a room with a view. It’s worth the little extra. Breakfast is basic but adequate. 3 course dinner included. Catered for vegetarians. 3 stars for the food. Great sitting on the verandah or outside in the garden. Fabulous view. Large lounge area.

We stayed at Heimly for 1 night while we were in flam. It was a great choice as some of the other hotels closer to the railway station would’ve had the view of cruise ships I think. This is about half a Km away from the centre hence we got an unblocked view of the fjords. I would definitely stay here next time if I want to stay in Flam. However we may stay in some other places close to flam that are equally beautiful and cheaper as well. The room is pretty average, small size. The bathroom is really really tiny. Average toiletries provided. The only thing about the room great was the fjord view. The bf was basic but adequate. Our package included dinner that was very nice and served very well too.

There’s not a lot of selection in Flam, so we took what we could find. This was just ok. We got stuck in a room on the bottom floor at the end, which had minimum amenities and walls thin enough to hear the snoring from the guy in the next room. The view was nice because it was further away from the “town” center, so it didn’t get blocked by the cruise ship that pulled in, but that can remedied by a little trek around the harbor. Breakfast was minimal and the eggs were gone by the time we arrived, around 8:30. Dinner was good, but one option, if you’re looking for choices. If I were return, I’d explore other options.

We enjoyed our stay at this guest house so much. A very sweet hotel with amazing views. We had dinner in the hotel one night and it was beautiful. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great every day, and if you’re going hiking, you can make a sandwich from the breakfast buffet for a small extra charge and take it with you. This was so helpful. Very comfortable bed. Both mornings, we sat on the front porch and enjoyed our coffee after breakfast. Flåm is such a sweet little place so you can walk everywhere from the hotel. There’s a tiny little beach right across the street from the hotel where my daughter went swimming both mornings. Absolutely beautiful. If I found myself in Norway again, I would absolutely return to this gem. We had two nights and one full day in Flam, but I wish I had had one more day.

Our family stayed for 1 night (2 separate rooms). It was a longer (5-10 min via the marina) walk than to the other hotels in town, but we preferred this location as we had unobstructed views of the gorgeous fjord from our window with no cruise ship blocking the way. Rooms were as expected - very small with just 2 smaller-than-twin beds and a tiny bathroom with a small folding door shower. There is a nice outdoor area on the grass and a large front porch with seating. Our 3 course dinner was included and was delicious. The menu is set - no choices - but we lucked out with a yummy salad starter, delicious cod, and an apple baked dessert. Breakfast was basic but fine for our needs. If you are expecting luxury, this is not the place for you, but if you need a nice, clean place to lay your head for an evening, I'd recommend.
