We loved the location of this hotel, really close walking distance to the slopes and good ski lockers. Our apartment had everything we needed apart from an oven. Our children slept on the bedroom and the beds were comfy. Us adults slept on the pull out sofa bed in the living room and while the bed with comfy the springs were very noisy and I found myself waking up constantly through the night everytime by husband moved. Other than that, we can’t complain. The apartment had lots of storage for all your cases, kit and whatnot. Would definitely stay here again. Receptionists were always friendly and polite. We were super greatful to be able to check in as soon as we arrived after a very long trip from the uk. We lucked out! Thanks for allowing us to check in early; much appreciated. See you again next year!

Really good central location, stunning views of the slopes. Two bed apartment was spacious, but I wouldn’t want to stay there with 7! There were 3 of us. The kitchen was filthy. Utensils hadn’t been cleaned - scissors had meat on them so we put everything in the dishwasher before we could use it. Our sheets were badly ripped but the friendly staff replaced them without a fuss. The apartment is basic and a little tired. The sofa covers were filthy too.

Stayed with my parents, husband and 13 year old in a 2 bed apartment here. Myself, Mum and Dad are seasoned self catering skiiers, we usually do go for budget "value for money" apartments to save on overall expenses, & we've had several hit and miss experiences over the years. All agreed this is the absolute best accomodation we've stayed in. Far more spacious than expected, a bathroom with big sink and bath with shower over, plus 2nd bathroom with shower, big sink and loo, then a further separate loo. Rooms were a good size, 2 balconies with great views of the slopes. There are lifts to all floors inc boot room. We had 2 lockers for our room, one for boots one for skiis. Its less than a 2min walk to the nursery slope and chairlift. Reception staff were lovely and helpful and spoke very good english. The guys at the ski hire shop attached are nothing short of amazing. Nothing was too much trouble they are the nicest people, amazing service. Facilities in the hotel are really good, very servicable little kitchenette in apartment, its not huge, but we cooked dinner for 5 every night without an issue. They provide loo rolls, towels, dishwasher tabs, bin bags, mini cleaning bits... you have everything you need for a self catering week. Ignore the bad reviews, honestly not sure what people are expecting for the money. You want a 5* glamourous hotel go pay for one. This is great value for what you pay, especially compared to where we have stayed before in other resorts. The skiing itself....honestly its not for novices. Experienced skiiers with hardy knees will be fine to explore the wide range of slopes on offer, but be warned the blue runs are more like wide reds, very steep, and can be quite moguly. Only a handful of greens, its not a ski resort for first timers really, bit of a shame as I had 2 beginners to teach, and did get bored of the same couple of slopes day in day out, but thats on us. Serpentine and Tourmaline put me through my paces early in the morning by myself! All in all its a fab place with lots of apres ski and ski up restaurants. Hope the snow returns to Flaine soon as weeks without fresh snowfall is making all the resorts pretty icy to ski on right now. Still, you cant control the weather! If I come back to Flaine I would 100% stay at La Foret again no question.

Just back from a 5 day stay here and it was brilliant. Really friendly staff, good WiFi, *great* views and excellent location. There's a ski shop and a pizza restaurant attached to the hotel but the little bar downstairs (Le Sucré Sale) was our favourite place to go. The residence is 2 minutes slow walk to the ski lifts and there's a funicular lift down to the town centre just over the road. Can't recommend it enough, really nice vibes the whole time we were there, if we come again to Flaine we'll definitely stay here.

IGNORE THE BAD REVIEWS!!!!!!!!!!!! Booked this place a year ago and we did the stupid mistakes and read the reviews so when we got here we weren’t expecting much at all but wow were we shocked! The place is massive and we’ll maintain, yes the pavements are a bit worn but that’s simply to due with the weather and the amount of people walking on them, someone said they had trouble pushing a pram ( ridiculous I have a pram and I wasn’t any trouble at all! ) the rooms were lovely and spacious, the pull out sofa bed is a bit squeaky But you get over that it was comfy and me and my partner had a lovely nights sleep on it for two weeks! Read some reviews on the food and we did originally book self catering but when we get here we upgraded straight away the food was good just basic buffet food but cooked lovely and a verity of foods to choose from. My favourite was the breakfast that was lovely. The staff and the entertainment was sooooooo good! Always something on at night and the kids clubs is really good too! My little girl was too young but I knew that before coming so i didn’t really care but from what I saw they kept the kids entertained and the kids loved them, they have a tribute night every Sunday and it’s brilliant! So funny and really well done. Only down side I would say was how far away from everything it is but they due offered a FREE bus service to the local town everyday and we had no trouble getting it. The pool doesn’t open until 10 which wasn’t really a problem for us and we also found a seat by the pool and under a brolly to keep the baby cool. Again I can’t prise the staff enough they were so nice and always greeted you with a smile whenever you needed something they were always there ready to help. There is a 200 deposit but you get that back straight away already have mine in the bank. The safe is extra €20 but don’t really need a safe just there just in case you do. The villas come with everything washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer bit out dated but honestly it does the job. I really don’t understand the bad reviews it’s been an amazing holiday and we have loved every single minute and we will definitely come back here again even told family that have kids about this place and they loved the look of it and the entertainment! Alex and fredo were also amazing ( the entertainment bosses )

On arrival quick and prompt check in Got to the room very dated and dirty looking When you arrive in the rooms be warned you have to make your own beds etc with bedding that they have left out for you Very odd On leaving you have to ***** beds and take to the laundry bags very tiring at 5-30 am with children ! Great restaurant down stairs highly recommend Great central location I would stay again but I don’t agree with the making and stripping of beds This is a holiday not a prison Camp

Good basic accommodation near the slopes. We lucked in with lovely piste views. Good size for family of three (1 bed), quiet and clean if tired. Only negative was the very noticeable draft from both balcony doors. Heating needed to be on all the time to counter this.

We opted for an upgrade due to spaces available in the hotel so for an extra few hundred we had great accommodation and made up for the snow issues. Lots of space and great views from the top floor. Clean and bright and airy . Helpful Staff . Great french Restaurant -refuge skier next door . A very big problem for our family was the pool table -we booked the accommodation partly for this as we felt it would be a nice communal area and lots of pics of this on their website But you needed 2x 1 euro coins ( and it was very very hard to get change as everything paid by phone. Spent a lot of time hanging round bars and shops trying to buy small items and get 10 euros then 5 euros then 2 euros changed. The apartment reception need to get some euros from the bank to be used or provide a machine otherwise the pool table is redundant. ( important when limited snow so bored kids !!) There was also change needed for the football table so same problem Overall though would definitely return and hope to utilize the ski in ski out part when further into the season. Even so a very short walk in ski boots to the main ski area. Fantastic boulangerie within a few minutes walk went out early for baguettes and fresh croissants. I would love to come and Ski the whole of Flaine rather that the 8/9 runs that were open. The kit hired from the Ski set shop next door fell apart at a restaurant -all rusty and degraded -double check your kit if you hire from there also had lots of broken clips on offered boots !. Still a great holiday though
