Riad Tizwa Fes

Beautiful Riad in a perfect location with charming rooms and rooftop terrace. Merieme was a great host along with our her colleagues who made us feel very comfortable throughout and couldn’t have done more for us throughout our stay. We highly recommend

Very peaceful and a lovely place to escape the heat of the day. The Riad is beautifully decorated and has all modern facilities - including a/c in bedrooms. A lovely roof terrace for breakfast or an evening drink. Very helpful staff who all speak good English and can offer many suggestions It’s inside the medina which makes exploring the main sights very easy

In terms of value for money this Riad is a good choice. Its location is ideal - quiet in the old town medina but only a hundred yards from a taxi drop off - and good for getting to places in and out of the medina. The rooms are fine for the price we paid. Not luxurious but things worked and the beds were comfortable. We had room 4 on the top floor - exactly 50 steep stairs to get to it so not for anyone with health issues but very quiet and private. We thought some of the other rooms might have been noisy from the central courtyard but this was only our feeling - we had peace and quiet. The roof terrace is pleasant although whilst having some laundry drying there most of the day is environmentally friendly we thought it not so attractive. There are some views but it is very much overlooked by other riads nearby. What makes this a special place is the attitude of the staff - their desire to be helpful and attentive was exemplary. From Merriem the manageress through to Mohammed and another guy whose name was something like Ayub - sorry this is so remiss of me - and the kitchen staff who opened the door for us with smiles, everyone seemed prepared to go the extra yard to make our experience so special. Mint tea was offered or just appeared when we returned from excursions and Merriem's recommendations for activities and restaurants were brilliant. Breakfasts were good too and they accommodated our request for a repeat of some special local doughnut-like specialities. Thanks to Merriem we had a great local guide for the medina, an enjoyable hammam experience, a wonderful cookery class, a taxi day out to Volubilis which was a highlight and visited a ceramic factory with brilliant artisans at work. Her restaurant recommendations were all spot on for us as non-meat eaters - we have reviewed them separately. So go for the location and the helpfulness of the staff..... and value for money, certainly in the room we were allocated - number 4.

We stayed at the Riad Tizwa in January 2024, and had a terrific time. The place is tastefully decorated with many traditional Moroccan touches, as well as modern amenities (the wi-fi connection was great), and it has a lightness, airiness and calm that belies its location in the busy Fes medina. We took our (delicious) breakfast on the roof terrace each day, soaking up the early morning sunlight and enjoying a peace and quiet that seemed a world away from the hubbub a few storeys below. The central courtyard provided a tranquil oasis after a long day exploring the souks, and the attentive staff were always on hand to proffer mint tea and peanuts. Other standouts were the wonderful local toiletries, and the traditional robes and slippers in each room. Finally, the staff could not have been more helpful, especially the manager, Merieme, who organised and cooked an amazing pastilla for us in the riad one evening. Highly recommended to any Fes Visitors looking for affordable, stylish accommodation.

Had a great three night stay here in room 1. Location is excellent, just a few minutes from the medina but quieter for being outside. The riad is beautiful and our room was huge with two loos and even a dressing room. Highlights were also the very friendly and efficient staff, Miriam is a star, plus a terrific breakfast which we had each morning on the roof terrace. Have no hesitation in recommending

As always our stay at Riad Tizwa was exceptional. The Riad itself is very conveniently located to explore all the hustle and bustle of the medina, yet is a total oasis of calm. The staff provided a wonderful welcome and made us feel immediately at home. The rooms and terrace are beautifully designed and timelessly elegant. Everything is clean and fresh. The attention to detail in all matters shine through. If only every day could start on the roof terrace with the fresh, delicious and varied breakfast prepared by the Meriem and her team - I shall be dreaming of returning back again very soon. I really could not recommend this Riad highly enough. For those travelling to Marrakech I would suggest checking out the Road Tizwa - also an elegant home away from home.

Like its sister riad in Marrakech, Riad Tizwa in Fes is welcoming, wonderfully located, and exquisitely designed and decorated. Don't miss the opportunity for a home-cooked tangine by the fireplace, just off the tiled courtyard with its dramatic view looking up four balconied floors up to the sky. Merieme, the warm and efficient manager, will look after you attentively, arranging your excursions (Idris is an awesome guide to the medina), laundry, sundry idiosyncratic requests (etc) with a gracious smile.

Wow. Not only was the Riad fabulous from the terrace on top to the courtyard on the bottom, but I have never had such accomodating and friendly staff. I stayed in 3 different rooms because i kept coming back! Merieme is a gem and her kindness will not be forgotten.
