Please come wind-down and enjoy a relaxing stay at our lake house. As seen in the photos, the house has a wide ranging view of the lake and surrounding area. With tall ceilings and a rustic vibe, you'll be sure to capture the spirit of the mining culture of the region.There's access to the lake via a trail in front of the house. *The walk down our path to the lake is a bit steep, so please keep that in mind. A private dock is at the bottom and can dock boats up to 20 feet. Anything larger may be anchored nearby. Feel free to fish on the dock!There are three bedrooms:- Settler's Suite (upstairs, not enclosed): Enjoys an overview of the lake and features a king-sized mattress. - Pine Room (upstairs, private): Includes a 50" TV w/DVD player and Roku (Netflix) along with two twin beds that can be arranged however you'd like.- Frontier Room (downstairs, private): A quaint room with a queen-sized mattress and closet. TV and Roku included.I'd say the house comfortably sleeps about 6, but with a futon and pull-out bed in one of the couches, you can stretch up to 8-10 guests. At around 10 p.m., open the windows and you may hear coyote packs in the nearby mountains.There are two boat launches nearby: one is a small launch on a windy dirt road not far from the house. Swim, kayak, fish or ride your bike on the Ferry County Rail Trails right outside of our house. If you are into ice fishing, this is the right place for you. Ice fish right off of the waterfront property. Cross country skiing is a must. on the trail or bring your snowmobiles and explore the many trails around the area.9 miles from the town of Republic, you can dig for fossils at Stonerose Fossil Interpretive Center, enjoy a cup of coffee from one of our many coffee places or enjoy fresh beer from the Republic Brewing Company. Several restaurants in town to have good meal. Come relax in our wood paneled cabin with direct access to Curlew Lake. The cabin is easily accessible from the paved road and is nestled on a quiet bay that is a no-wake zone, making it even safer for swimming, kayaking, etc. The bay is brimming with wildlife from bald eagles, osprey, heron, turtles, frogs, beavers, deer, and more! Enjoy watching the family of bald eagles that nest directly across the bay, with ideal viewing from the deck. Curlew Lake is known for its fishing, year-round. Fish from the dock or put your boat in at the public launch at the State Park. Great spot for ice fishing in the winter too. Cabin is stocked with games for all ages, and Roku for access to your streaming services. Our cabin includes a large open kitchen with stone counter tops and new appliances, 3 bedrooms that sleep 8 comfortably. Large covered deck with a gas grill. In cold weather warm up around the wood stove. Great spot for families, small group, or a couples weekend. Lots to do nearby, or just relax and enjoy the natural views. Located near the charming town of Republic, hikes and cross-country skiing in the Colville National Forest and the Kettle Crest and PNW Trail, biking and walking on the nearby Ferry County Rail to Trail (the former train trestle bridge is around a 10 minute walk from cabin), horseback trail riding tours available locally. Popular area for hunting. Even the drive on the Scenic Sherman Byway is itself a treat. In addition to ice fishing and nordic skiing, Winter activities also include snowmobiling and some families enjoy ice skating on the lake! If coming during winter months, we highly recommend a 4WD vehicle to handle snow given the slope of the driveway.The former gold mining town of Republic offers local eateries, a microbrewery (that also has great rootbeer and homemade sodas!), quaint independent shops, natural food store, ice cream, pizzeria, grocery store, hardware store, library, etc. As the county seat, Republic also has a hospital. Near the center of town is the Stonerose Fossil Site, where both kids and adults will have fun digging and exploring for ancient fossils. The Eagle Race Track hosts car races on many weekends. A different experience awaits in each of the 4 seasons.
