My husband and I just spent a long weekend at Trilith Guesthouse; we checked out this morning. The experience was disappointing for sure. It's a Marriott property which usually means it should have high standards. Our room temp was warm. We tried to lower the AC to no avail. We sweated during our sleep. To top it off our toilet was a low flow toilet and would barely flush. We spoke to front desk people and maintenance manager. They seemed friendly enough. However the problem of the toilet remained throughout our stay. We chose not to move rooms - our choice. The temp of the room was slightly lowered. We barely felt the fan moving air. This hotel is under a year old. It seems the standards for the building were low and cheap. I cannot believe Marriott has their stamp of approval on it. I would never recommend and I would never go back. The main ladies restroom on main floor - the soap dispensers were not working and they placed a dial pump soap (watered down) by one of the sinks. This shows the quality of construction; it's not even a year old.

The staff was great! From the valet attendant to the housekeeping personnel. Special thanks to Tia and Tiara who went above and beyond during our stay. We arrived early and were accommodated with early check-in. The room was clean and cozy. Fully stocked with snacks and drinks. We enjoyed breakfast downstairs and would definitely recommend if you prefer to stay in the hotel rather than going out. There are also a few nice places close by within walking distance. Hotel was so nice it gives us an excuse to come see family living nearby. We already booked our next trip for July.

I wish i could give 3.5 stars but ill give 4 because this is a newer hotel that's still figuring things out. To start, a lot of this stay was great. I spend 60+ nights a year in Marriott hotels. Rooms are in great shape. A/C worked great. Shower is clean and water hot. Everything in terms of the hard product is really phenomenal. I do expect with a newer hotel like this that the TV/furniture/room will be perfect, and it pretty much was. One minor concern with the rooms is that the doors rarely shut on their own. You have to turn around and kind of slam them shut or they will not lock. Also, water pressure in the shower was a little sad. Most of my issues were with staff/policies. -i stayed for 3 nights, but the nights had to be booked on 3 separate reservations because i was not sure how long i would need to stay. I have done this at many hotels and always find that if i clearly communicate what i am doing, it's no big deal. That didn't seem to be the case here. I kept having to inform different people that i was not, in fact, checking out. Normally, I would say it's no big deal. But after the 3rd consecutive time having to explain it, it became a little ridiculous. -As you would expect, nothing in the room is free except the coffee pods. Yes, even the bottled water costs money. Really? The water? -annoying lights in bathroom that never ever turn off. I hate this trend in hotels. I have a cell phone with a flashlight. I don't need this. -Breakfast for Marriott elites is baffling. They gave me a breakfast voucher that said it entitled me to a "free" continental breakfast. Oddly, though, there is no continental breakfast. You just have to order off the menu. That's when I found out that the "free" breakfast for Bonvoy elites is really just a $15 discount. Nothing on the menu is as cheap as $15. So, inevitably, you're going to have to pay something. This, to me, is more of a Hilton type of policy, but I guess this Marriott property is going to adopt it too. Using a voucher is also really ridiculous. There is no reason why this can't be done internally via the check and room number system. Why complicate things with 2 extra steps? -Speaking of breakfast, it's sort of a mixed bag. A lot of the items sound good on paper, and indeed, they are cooked well, but the recipes just don't turn out very well. "Fried tomato benedict" was a fun idea until I tried it. "Coconut pancakes" was also fun until I tried it. I think they need to bring in a different chef and redo the menu. It's almost too cute for its own good. Someone had too much fun trying to do something unique but forgot to make something that would taste good. The avocado toast was the one thing i hated that seemed ready for prime time. The coffee was not great. Then again, it rarely is these days even at nicer hotels. -The website is misleading. It is unclear which rooms have what in them. There is mention online of a washer/dryer in many of the rooms, which tur
