A great pub to stay at for a long weekend. We stayed there to watch racing at Brands Hatch for two days and you could not be closer to the circuit. The food was outstanding, we had a ribeye steak and we are still talking about it a week later. The staff were very friendly and if they saw our glass empty it was promptly collected and refreshed. We will be staying there again in the future. Robert Giddens from Cornwall

Asked if they had Angostura bitters. Unfortunately difficult to explain. Other things to add to a soft drink for a non alcoholic drink. Eventually choice my drink a Cuba Libre with an Eclipse rum from Barbados and coke. Presented well. Friendly customers. Just felt no atmosphere.

Wasn’t happy with the meal. Ordered pate for starters the toast was soggy. The shepherd pie too salty! Broccoli spears you couldn’t cut with the blunt knifes. Crème brûlée tasteless. Coffee terrible. Staff were nice and helpful and friendly. Will not return.

The management of this B&B/pub should be ashamed of themselves. We booked & paid for 2 twin rooms including breakfast in the morning. We were asked what time we wanted breakfast in the morning & we said 9am, which was agreed. In the morning, there were NO staff in the B&B/pub, it was completely locked up, we had to leave the keys in the rooms as there was no one for us to give to and we had NO breakfast. We have since messaged the B&B/pub at least 3 times & we have had NO response to date. We had to go elsewhere & buy breakfast even though we had already paid The Rising Sun Inn. Would not recommend

Went for Sunday lunch bang average, not much choice able to book on the day which is not a good sign , meat wasn’t good veg was either over of under cooked. Cauliflower cheese was mush. Service was rushed, and so won’t be returning as I can cook better myself. Only a few people in the bar so no atmosphere , sad really as it was a good pub

We stayed for 3 nights at what was advertised as a luxury room. It was one of the worst places we have ever stayed. The room was small, the radiators didn't work in either the main room or the bathroom, so there was nowhere to dry towels. We couldn't work the TV - It kept saying 'no signal'. We complained three times on the first night to be told someone would come, but no-one did. We went down into the bar and a young girl went up to our room, but couldn't fix the problems. We were told someone would fix the radiators the next day. They still didn't work. We didn't have housekeeping at all during our stay, so teas/coffees/ showers gel etc were never replaced. Breakfast was a cooked breakfast - no cereal or fruit or anything else on offer the first morning. There was just one other person for breakfast and to say it wasn't good is an understatement. We chose not to have breakfast the second day and she also chose not to. We had a breakfast the morning we left and we were offered cereal (Corn Flakes or Fruit and Fibre) so I just had the cereal and toast - a safer option. I did email the owner to complain whilst at the Inn but to date I haven't received a reply.

We had a family Sunday lunch, it was disappointing . There had been a change of management since our last visit and the food is not nearly as good as it used to be , and very little choice. The sourdough starter was toasted brown bread! The roast dinner was very average, and some meat selections running low at 12:45! Coffee was unrecognisable as coffee and undrinkable. Doubt we will return .

Recommend by a friend, however a sign says ‘under new management’ Told no meals after 5pm, however they served the select few! In room, no chair to sit on for mirror, couldn’t see tv from bed, side lamp not working, teabags not in sachets left open to all elements so tasted funny, bed not really 4poster, nowhere to hang towel for shower, no shower gel/shampoo bottles empty, towels small. Breakfast…nobody around to explain procedure, had to wait for chef/cook to come out of kitchen, he seemed unsure as well, however breakfast tasted good…

Fabulous B & B and really good pub food. Stayed one night while visiting Brands Hatch. Lovely room with four poster bed, exceptionally comfortable. Would definitely recommend. Only a few minutes drive to Brands Hatch.
