Wow! What a place! What an experience. The hotel and grounds are tasteful and immaculate. The staff super warm and friendly. Food delicious. Wonderful location near the sea and numerous other destinations worth visiting in Puglia. Mind you - hanging out in the garden here is heaven enough. Thankyou Masseria Sottomasi!

Set amidst hundreds possibly thousands of olive trees, this newly built masseria in traditional style with reclaimed materials is beautiful, comfortable and a delight. The team are charming and responsive. Food is very good. No problem too complex for Pino who seemed to us to be host, reception, manager and porter! We were potentially prevented from catching our plane by road closures due to the local half marathon, a problem resolved by Pino phoning the police and the race manager! A wonderful stay.

This piece of paradise is the Labour of love of Ruth and her husband, born out of painstaking attention to detail over many years. The combination of use of local materials, salvaged tiles, distressed furniture, landscaped gardens, wonderful pool, relaxing sauna and (if needed) warmly burning fire and underfloor heating creates an ambience of perfect relaxation, where you truly get away from it all. Add Magherita’s excellent cooking ( breakfasts, also gourmet dinners), Pamela’s solicitousness with coffees and teas and Pino’s ever helpful advice and you find you don’t want to leave. Strong wi-fi signal and plenty of seating in sun and shade to work from/relax in, but also priximity to all the important sights incl Ostuni and Alberobello means you never lack for things to do; while Pino can also provide bikes for some gentle cycling in the Puglian countryside. A great holiday.

Wat een fantastische plek is dit. Vanaf het moment dat je de oprit oprijdt ervaar je de ontspannen sfeer en zeer goede verzorging van Masseria Sottomasi. Het voelt alsof je te gast bent bij heel goede vrienden. De mensen zijn super vriendelijk en staan steeds voor je klaar. De kamers zijn sfeervol en hebben ieder hun eigen karakter. Aan alles is gedacht. ‘s ochtends het ontbijt met vers fruit, zelf gebakken broden en andere lekkernijen. De lunch en diner zijn een waar feest. We zijn er 5 dagen geweest en slechts 2 maaltijden elders gegeten. Het liefst waren we ‘thuis’ bij Sottomasi, waar de sfeer, de entourage en het eten subliem was. De tuin en het zwembad is ruim opgezet waardoor er voor iedereen voldoende privacy is. We waren er dit keer met vrienden, wat we graag herhalen. Maar ook samen of met de kinderen komen we hier graag nog eens terug.
