Not what we expected- we were in accommodation described as a “junior suite 200m from main building.” This is a cave like building consisting of 2 small beds, a sink, kettle and coffee making machine in the first part. Then a double bed and TV followed by a shower, toilet and sink. Literally one long room with nowhere to sit and absolutely nothing to call luxury. Certainly not what I call a suite. The whole building was very cold and an extra blanket was provided when requested. The outside space was in need of a good clean and on the edge of a quarry so not at all picturesque. To walk to the main building was very rough territory and no lights at night - I did mention this to the receptionist who said she would look into it. The pool is fine for children but as it is very shallow really not for swimming. We ate in the restaurant one night of our 4 night stay and for €50 per person found it rather expensive. You can only eat from 830-900pm so everyone arrives together. There is nowhere nearby to eat so you need to drive to find alternative eating places. Breakfast was adequate but nothing special and the same every morning. The one redeeming feature is the staff who are very polite and friendly but I feel this really is not 5*accommodation. Luckily the rest of our Puglia accommodation was much more comfortable. My feelings are the “junior suite” needs some TLC to meet the 5* description. However I appreciate that we all have different standards - just not for us.

Beautiful Masseria! We stayed there say after amour wedding and it was perfect. Food is amazing! only negative thing was that room was bit cold, we stayed in late October. will be coming back in summer. Overall, one of the best Masserias I have ever been to.

Borgo San Marco is within easy reach of Bari or Brindisi airports. It is surrounded by olive trees and an ancient wall. The first six nights of our stay were in the wonderful apartment ‘La Isola Piccola’ which is located in the middle of an olive grove - this was absolutely perfect to unwind in almost complete isolation. We spent the last two nights in the magnificent apartment ‘Cavaliere’, which is part of the main historic house. We arrived at Borgo San Marco as guests, but we left as firm friends. The staff were amazing and all deserve special mention (Carmen, Lucrezia, Rosanna, Ilaria, Giusy, Natasha, Vito, Gianmario & Fernando). We didn’t meet the kitchen staff, but we can say that the food they produced and the hospitality that we enjoyed throughout our stay was absolutely superb, whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner. We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Borgo San Marco very highly indeed to all who read this review. It was a superb holiday and within reach of so many beautiful places in Puglia. We will definitely return.

We stayed here for 3 nights; its a good way to explore this part of Puglia. The Borgo is well maintained and the rooms are in style and cool. The pool is divine! We have two young kids but I noticed the borgo is mainly visited by couples which is fine but if you are looking for kids distraction, there is just the pool! The breakfast is good and we enjoyed lunch here once which was homemade and delicious!

Well located place to be able to do and beach and visits inland The place is located near several good restaurants also The cuisine is good and they still have several choices for lunch / day It's good because compared to other other hotels in the region they still serve easily at any time and have the flexibility above Qualitative breakfasts with choice Good service and staff more than friendly and smiling The masseria has many rooms all different and spacious The whole is simple but at least it's clean There is a nice swimming pool area and otherwise for a wedding the place is not bad Indoors it is not suitable for a big wedding however The Chapelle du borgo is very cute

Basically a very nice place where we felt comfortable. Also the staff is very friendly and helpful. What is unfortunately not quite right is the price-performance ratio. The prices are at 5-star level (simple tomato pasta for a child for €20! You won't even find that in expensive Switzerland), the consideration at 4-star level (only 1 menu in the evening, only snacks at lunchtime) to the prices To justify this, the infrastructure urgently needs to be renewed (furnishing rooms) and brought to a higher level, as well as more staff and even more flexibility.

Beautiful old walls and gardens but unfortunately not recommended overall. The standard suite "Massara" had the following shortcomings: - disgusting smell from the shower - plaster is crumbling and dowels are loosening (see photos) - room door had a significant gap, which also allowed some small animals to get into the room: ants and lizards - bathroom door had a crack through which you could see - from the afternoon you have to turn on the light because it is extremely dark in it (2 small windows) - air conditioning in the bedroom was defective - a cot was made for our 12-year-old son without prior consultation with a moisture protection sheet, which squeaked incredibly loudly at night. So we couldn't sleep the first night. Room service tends to forget to refill glasses and the cleaning equipment was left in the room once in a while. Broken glass at the pool was only removed after repeated requests. The pool is nice but much smaller than in the photos. However, the garden is really nice and very big. Price/performance ratio is simply not right here. One has the impression that the location and the old heritage are being used here.
