Booked here to stay for a wedding, location and scenery was brilliant. Checked in and was told we were staying in the castle part of the hotel made our way from the reception to castle and got a bit lost within castle sign posting was poor. I decided to ask a member a staff if he could assist and his reply was " i dont know where that room is, i cant help you and walked off we then asked another member of staff and she said the rooms were all the top floor. On our way to the rooms there was flys everywhere on the spiral staircase and wallpaper ripped off the wall. Enter the room it didnt appear to be very clean, no television, missing buttons from the phone, window didnt open at first and when we got it open there was no way of keeping it open and there was no toilet roll within the room aswell as a few flys circling the room. Called reception numerous times with no answer, asked when we went down to wedding reception we mentioned about having no toilet roll and was assured it would has been delivered by end of the night. After the wedding at 1am we arrived back with no toilet roll. When we called reception to ask again we were told it was waiting and we needed to come and get it. Had to run to the other building in the rain and to collect toilet roll and at this point we decided enough enough and requested a move of room which at first the receptionists was reluctant however manage to do this and we finally got into another room at 2am to call it a night. Whole place was poorly sign posted, had holes in the corridor wall as if it was missing lights and at reception when checking out no real concern about our experience at the hotel. Overall a very poor experience and other guest had more to say about there rooms at breakfast.

Very mismanaged and dirty hotel. There was blood stains on the wall in the bedroom and everything was dirty. Staff were unprofessional and did not care about their guests. Horrible experience and would not go back

My boyfriend booked this place as it was nearby Edinburgh Airport and also on our way home (I was after long flight). Castle looks impressive when you drive in, at hotel we checked in (staff were nice and friendly) and headed to the room. When I walked in to the room it was obvious it needs to be updated, all furnitures old and just looking tired, tv with little screen. I was glad that I had flip flops from my travel with me as I wouldn't walk on that carpet with bare feet/socks. Carpet definitely needs to be replaced, likewise in all hotel (lift in bad state too). The most disturbing was mould in a bathroom, I can't understand how you can offer a room in such a state, we are in XXI century in high developed country...? there should be some inspection for that hotel definitely. Mould on tiles, shower head, around bath was just disgusting. Very patchy wifi - I had to stand/sit in certain places to get it, I didn't have any wifi while I was laying in bed. Also the last thing was there is literally no insulation/soundproof as we could hear even conversation which next room had..not raised voices, just usual conversation. I don't eat greasy breakfast, so there was no really alternative for me. Only some cornflakes and little pastry and little jams. No cheese, ham, lettuce, fresh veg. Disappointing. On good side I had nice dinner and staff apologized when I said about mould in bathroom (doesn't really do anything, room should be renovated in a first place).

we came here because of a trip to Falkirk and boness. breakfast was good and the staff were really nice. the pool was the best part of the whole experience the staff always gave us towels after our swim the sauna and steam room were really nice too. anyway the room was reasonable it was clean but the bath had a couple of scrapes along the bottom so they paint had chipped away and the bed sheet had a rip in it otherwise clean and pretty nice

We had a "guaranteed" reservation, as part of a larger trip. This place just unilaterally canceled it, with no advanced warning. Ridiculous. Out of nowhere, I just got a message: "Your booking was canceled." Don't book here. They will screw you.

Overnight with a friend on the 13th of February, have tried to resolved this issue via email with Joanna but due to no response I’m leaving a review, in hope others read and avoid the hotel! - when we first arrived my friend asked for a skinny latte and the young member of staff behind the bar made a rude facial expression at my friend and said “what’s the difference?” She then went to find out if they had any whole milk alternatives, then returned to say they had none. We were under the impression that a skinny latte was just a standard coffee order. - we then had our afternoon tea which was part of our spa package - there were items missing (halloumi fries) and no alternatives were offered. - we were then made late to our spa appoin**ent as it took two young members of staff 25 minutes to wrap our scones in some tin foil. - when we were in for our afternoon tea it was clear to us that staff were untrained, as a young member of staff was very overwhelmed and shaking when an older member of staff asked him to seat a couple. The couple then had to seat themselves and get their own menus. - After our spa trea**ents we went to use the pool, but we were put off as there was a dog wandering around the changing rooms and this just seemed very unhygienic. - We then had booked the grill room for 7:30pm, however when we arrived we were told our booth wasn’t ready yet and to come back later. We came back around 20 minutes later and they had given our booth away, which meant we had to wait even longer to be seated. - we ordered cocktails at the bar, and the only member of staff behind the bar told us that he was not trained to make cocktails and we would have to wait. This shocked us, as cocktails were on the drinks menu, and it was such a busy evening. We then had to wait over 20 minutes for an espresso martini and a French martini. - The main course, braised ox cheek, was lovely but finished in around 2 mouthfuls. Definitely gave us wedding food vibes - not something we would expect to pay £18.50 for. - As we were still hungry we ordered a cheeseboard which took 40 minutes to arrive. - This morning, we went for breakfast at 9:30am and lots of items were missing (butter, potato scones, ketchup) and we were told they had none to put out as breakfast was almost done. - we then decided we’d have some cereal as breakfast didn’t really satisfy us, however, members of staff had taken that away around 9:50am (10 minutes before breakfast is supposed to end) - The room was not worth the price we were charged, completely outdated and in need of a refurb. We upgraded to a junior suite and I found it to be one of the worst hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. If we hadn’t had a drink at the bar before checking in, we would have checked straight back out and drove home. We are both teachers and feel we were falsely advertised on both our spa package and overnight stay. It did not meet what we were promised, and we have only been offered a £30 spa trea**ent in ret

We have just stayed overnight at Airth Castle to be part of our friends wedding celebration. We were a bit nervous based on some of the recent reviews but we needn’t have been as we had such a wonderful time from start to finish. The Wedding in the castle itself was magnificent - a great backdrop for such an important day. The reception was held in the main hotel function suite and again it was magnificently decorated. Every single staff member from the start to finish of our visit was fantastic, friendly, welcoming and proficient. Sure the rooms are a wee bit tired but they are entirely functional - clean, spacious and lots of hot water from the excellent shower. Breakfast was really nice and good quality ingredients. Thanks to all the staff for our highly enjoyable overnight stay ( especially the lovely barmaid who went about half a mile to the store cupboard to get him some apple juice 🙂 )

We have just arrived home from what should have been , and has been in the past a relaxing nights get away. We first arrived and instead of a bed their was a travel cot which was quickly resolved- however the bed that we were given was like sleeping on a pile of bricks , myself and two teenage daughters had to share a double bed as a result. The room was absolutely freezing and when asked for blankets were provided with one for 4 people ! The bathroom was full of mould, during the night I went for the toilet and water dripped on me from the ceiling which had a very large patch on the ceiling which had very obviously leaked before. The valance sheet had a stain on it, under the bed when moved slightly was filthy and had clothing tags and various other items under it. The window in the bedroom was also absolutely filthy. When we went for dinner and we’re seated we waited 40 minutes on a drink! The area we were seated was freezing and we had to be moved which was also freezing! The children’s meals were ok however myself and mum had the burger which was very dry! We attempted to get the attention of passing by waitresses with no luck , eventually more than half way through our meal we were approached.

Absolutely terrible experience. Room standard was disgraceful, radiator in the room made so much noise it kept me awake the full night long. Room was dirty, tired and certainly not 4*. Very disappointed and I won't be back.
