We just had the best time for a family member's 60th birthday trip to Portland and stayed at Goblin Hill. The property is beautifully landscaped and the views are amazing! Dravane at the front desk arranged for massages onsite for the group which were done on the terraces overlooking the beautiful Caribbean Sea. Breakfast each morning on the Hummingbird Terrace was delicious with Andrea doing an excellent job with serving. She was very attentive to our needs especially since we were a group of 8. We enjoyed tennis and the pool and the property is located within driving distance to the attractions in Port Antonio and the surrounding area. Angela who greeted us upon arrival and departure, was very friendly and ensured that all was well during our stay. Their Guest Info Booklet clearly states that this is not an all inclusive property and all meals are prepared at the restaurant on request at a reasonable cost. Every staff member we came across was friendly and polite and made us feel welcome. If you are looking for a place to chill and relax and enjoy amazing views and a family friendly environment this is the place to stay!

I recently stayed at Goblin Hill Villas with my friend, Mihaela and our experience was nothing but disappointing. After a brutal six-hour drive from Negril, we arrived around 6 PM, hoping to unwind and eat some dinner. Upon arrival, the daughter of the receptionist escorted us to our one-bedroom apartment and took us to the terrace to enjoy the view. However, it was dark outside, and the glass doors leading to the terrace were left slightly open—about 40 cm. When we attempted to exit to the terrace, we could not see the glass doors at all because they were transparent and lacked safety stickers. Unfortunately, my friend hit her head on the glass door and immediately blacked out on the floor. The receptionist's daughter and the security personnel merely stood in shock, failing to offer any assistance or warn us about the hazard. We were fortunate to find ice in the freezer, though we had to request it. Mihaela was in extreme pain, unsure whether her nose was broken. Rather than recommending urgent medical attention, the receptionist’s daughter suggested we enjoy a culinary experience at a nearby restaurant—an absurd suggestion, given my friend's condition. The next morning, no one checked in on us, so we chose to seek medical attention in Port Antonio, which wasted our time since we had hoped to relax on the beach after our long journey. On our way out, we encountered the manager—a woman with long dreadlocks—who callously stated that our injury was our fault for not adjusting the curtains better. She did not even inquire about my friend's well-being, focusing solely on our payment balance—a shocking lack of customer care. Despite having safety stickers on other glass doors, none were placed on the door we had encountered. This is a serious health and safety breach on the hotel's part, and it reflects a blatant disregard for guest safety. For $300 a night, one would expect better. There was no offer to call a doctor, nor was there any follow-up to check on Mihaela’s condition; they seemed solely interested in collecting money. After three nights, the receptionist and security staff forced us to leave without any apology or acknowledgment of our distress. We noticed the manager literally hiding in her office to avoid confronting us. Additionally, I must mention several other issues: guests are only given one bottle of water upon arrival; after that, you must purchase your own—something I've never encountered at a $300 per night hotel. The kitchen was old and rusty, with pots, pans, and a cooker that appeared to be decades old. There was no complimentary coffee or tea, and the so-called restaurant was rarely open, requiring pre-orders a day in advance. There is no food on premises whatsoever unless you order in advance. It’s highly inconvenient if you don’t drive and you can’t walk anywhere to grab a snack if hungry. The pictures online are misleading—the views are nice, but apart from that, the entire property feels rundown and in desperat

It is with mixed feelings that we write this review. It was a property we were so looking forward to spending our 14 nights of pure relaxation. We booked a superior two bedroomed ocean view villa, which actually appears to be their only 2 bedroomed villa of this kind on the property with this panoramic view! Sadly the reality of this accommodation was sky light seeping through the roofs of the bedrooms upstairs, which in heavy rainfall drips of water came through. There was no Internet reaching this ( there best villa) until the 5th day of our stay. Pretty much every other day there was a water problem, no water to shower or flush the toilet, on some occasions when there was water it was cold. The pool area needed a good jet wash and the hammocks and sun beds needed to be cleaned. We could not use the pool area for these very reasons. A couple of electric outages, though these were short lived. The San San beach that is advertised open at weekends only, is a bit of a walk down the back of the property , out onto the street across a major road and a further walk, eventually on arrival you will find it is not worth the journey. Goblin Hill’s garden areas were well kept, and if you pay for an ocean view villa, it will keep you sane as you battle through everything else this property lacks. Despite the lovely staff trying to remedy these issues mentioned, sadly Goblin Hill does not a appear to be a property that is loved by its owners, this is plain to see. We would recommend spending your hard earned cash at other establishments in the area that are well kept and until such time when Goblin Hill villas can manage to maintain the basic amenities and up keep to reclaim its place in the travellers market. To Note: all service shortfalls experienced were reported to the establishment reception on each occasion they occurred. We stayed 8-21 Feb’25, and there was very, very low occupancy during the time of our 14 nights stay.

I would not recommend staying at this resort. The first day we did not have any power. The Villa was not very clean and rundown. The shower was a trickle of water. They gave us 1 liter bottle of water for 3 people for a 5 nite stay. We went to town to buy water, coffee and breakfast items as they did not offer coffee complimentary or even to purchase. They only had breakfast meals for about $12 even if you only wanted a coffee. They food is by preorder the day before but was good and plentiful. Lunch about $18. Dinners around $30. We had feces on our beds, bugs in the room and the last night we were their a long black worm in our bed (under the top cover) The view was beautiful however the beach was closed even though advertised open. The one open beach that was advertised $12 entry wanted $20 from us. The free beach taking donations did not like our $3 each person donation and refused to let us in unless we offered more money. The staff was friendly and we met some terrific taxi drivers but for the most part we felt very unsafe. Do not expect to be able to use Venmo or credit for rides- that is cash only business. We were there for a wedding and this honestly is th emotional money we have ever spent for a stay at a resort and the worst accommodations we ever had. Internet was basically non existent and not really much to do on the property. The pool was decently kept. We had a heck of a time trying to book one of the blocked wedding party rooms and many who tried to book were turned away being told the resort was full when it was not. We also were told our room was to be in section C, specifically C and were given a room in section B.

Great location for a lush magical experience. Peaceful and tranquil with lots of recreational options nearby. If you opt to prepare your own meals plan accordingly or request meal services in advance. Easy to be a repeat visitor. Great for family, friends or couples alike.

Goblin Hill Villas is a beautiful small resort outside Port Antonio. The view overlooking San San beach is absolutely gorgeous. The grounds are a work of art, beautifully landscaped. The pool is the best pool I've enjoyed in Jamaica, mainly because of the lush tropical landscaping surrounding it. We engaged a personal cook-Taniece-who was an amazing chef and a lovely person. And the rates are quite reasonable for the quality of the room and grounds. If you need a driver, Petey Garfield is the best. Winifred Beach, rafting on the Rio Grande, and the waterfalls up in the mountains are nearby and amazing. Port Antonio is off the beaten path, so you won't feel like you're in just an extension of Miami-in-Jamaica!

Goblin Hill is slow paced, Pleasant Charming and rustic. when you want to unwind in a lush environment near the warm tropical sea this is the place. Charming easy going and laid back service, turn off your phone take off your watch and and slow down to the easy paced rhythm of this place. the staff is super friendly very accommodating. But things happen slowly here. meals are relaxed you may have to wait a little longer for a meal than you expect but don't worry, soon come prevails around these parts. So chill and slooowww down, relax unwind and enjoy the lush beauty. Its a time capsule amenities while good are 70's style. Good wifi , but no USB ports. bring your chargers.

My husband and I stayed in a two-bedroom villa with my brother and his wife. The rooms were simple and comfortable and had Incredible views and lawns. We enjoyed the pool and tennis courts everyday. The staff was friendly and helpful. We recommend getting the personal chef to experience authentic Jamaican food. The 2 nearby beaches are walkable. We enjoyed unplugging and experienced a low-stress, serene, and beautiful vacation.

I went to Goblin Hill to spend time with my family. Disconnect from the pressures of work and relax, renew, and recharge. I accomplished all these things. Highlights were the views of San San beach and the Caribbean ocean, the lush grass, the tennis courts, and the pool. We had a personal chef for several meals, and the food was outstanding.
