Essentia Guest House

Perfect location, with great view The guesthouse was exceptional, with rustic architecture. It is located in a village literally in the middle of nowhere. Lake como is everywhere you look, as it is located up in the hill. The room was spacious, well decorated and silent, the personnel was also helpful and kind. The only thing that visitors have to know, is that the guest house does not provide a parking space. You have to park your car in a public parking on the nearest village and then you have to use the shuttle service of the guest house as this is the only way to go up the hill.

It would be much better to have the facts about the property upfront: - it is not reachable by own vehicle (which you have to leave in the village below) as these are restricted roads, - the "shuttle" is a tiny Fiat Panda (so if you're travelling as a group, that is several trips), - the units are close together and the owner warned us to be quiet as other guests were already sleeping (given how sound carried we felt we couldn't even watch TV at normal volumes - a basic ask; hanging a heavy curtain over the doorway would absorb more of the sound); - not even instant coffee in the room. Btw, the suite layout is such that the bathroom is after the bedroom, awkward for groups that are not very close/families. Overall, we felt fooled by the high star rating and overexaggerated description of facilities (i.e., the patio pic included in the room-specific section is a common area) - we would not have chosen this place if we had the true facts, especially because the labourious arrival process is just not worth it for one night. To add insult to injury, the owner was also rather unpleasant. The view is spectacular and facilities are new and clean.

Amazing view of the lake from the property. It’s a 40 minutes bus ride to Bellargio but Sophie and Luca are wonderful and flexible with their shuttle service to and from the bus stops

This place is a unique gemstone. It’s an adventure to get to it, but you won’t have to do the driving, you will have the most memorable drive through ancient town built into the side of the mountain and the owners car will get a couple of more scratches but it’s all worth it. The view is the Best we have encountered in Italy and you will meet the owners pets and maybe will have the pleasure seeing their flying squirrel that lives on the fig tree. Amazing experience.

Go there! Go there, you wont regret it and you will remember it. Secluded and the scenery is unbelievable! The owner provides excellent service as well!

Amazing view the owner Gianluca was a great host. The room is very spacious and excellent breakfast in the morning. He gave us a ride to the nearest bus station and picked us up. Slightly away from the main attractions however we did all of that during the day and relaxed in the evening
