We stayed here for a week in August. The hot tub had not been cleaned prior to our arrival and myself and children were left with an unsightly bacterial hot tub rash. We had no apology from staff although they emptied and refilled it(something which should have already been done ). We tested the levels and they were all way over what they should be. Absolutely disgusting!! The staff have now completed ignored my calls and emails to compensate me Very poorly managed Beware if u rent a lodge with a hot tub. The lodge opposite had 3 different dets of families staying in the week and the hot tub was not emptied once! .

Totally underwhelmed I'm sorry to say....understaffed, overpriced , run down , poor service. I waited at the bar to order for TWELVE mins whilst one person struggled taking orders, making drinks , waiting tables etc etc. Maybe there was only one in the kitchen too as I waited a further 40 mins for simple fried eggs on toast. My friend had poached eggs which were overcooked and inedible...after such a long wait this was not acceptable. I had to search four tables before I could find any salt. We also had to listen to " crash ,bang ,wallop" behind us- as two people packed up and trollied out a disco set up. The toilets were in disrepair ( door locks ) and the hand drier looked like it had been installed for the Harlem Globe Trotters basketball team.

I want to say a big thank you to all the staff especially Kirsty , Kirsty was very friendly and welcoming, she was on her own taking orders and serving us our breakfast, doing the job of 3 people with her also clearing tables and resetting them for her next customers. Alway a smile on her face , what ever she is being paid it needs to be more , she deserves it . All the staff did us proud for my granddaughters wedding , nothing was too much trouble A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU ALL .

Our room was on first floor. It was a Bit dated but functional. Hairdryer. Safe and kettle in room. Small bottle shampoo shower gel and bar soap. Nice double shower and plenty of hot water but ours had the remanence of an old shower dispensing unit which could easily be removed. No shelves to put anything in bathroom but there is a writing desk in the bedroom. Plenty of sockets in bedroom but no USB’s. Small tv on wall. Wi-Fi good. Bedroom & Bathroom was clean and the shower didn’t have any mould which is rare in these places. If I had to be picky, The back of the bathroom Door could Do With a wipe down and the windows neaded cleaning. We stayed on a really horrible night in September but there wasn’t any heating on in rooms and it was freezing. The walls are also very thin that I could hear the guy snoring in the next room. Breakfast was fine. Full English breakfast with table service. Toaster and cereal self service. Tea coffee juice also self service including specialty tea bags. Almond milk in request. Vegan breakfast. Hash brown. Sausages. Beans. Tinned Mushrooms tomato. Quite a steep ramp down to get into hotel and then out of hours door is up the fire escape stairs so if you are disabled, check with hotel That they can accommodate as I didn’t see a lift.

The staff were beyond amazing! As a solo female staying I felt welcomed from the start. I am a competing young bodybuilder who has strict dietary requirements coming up to competition. The ladies were more than helpful to heat up and plate all my food which is more than most restaurants or anywhere really. I always get nervous asking because normally greeted with a lack of understanding or willingness to help. But the ladies at Fingle Glen Saturday and Sunday 19th/20th made me so happy with such a little act. Will 100% stay again. Thank you for making my day

Not a bad place to stay for a couple of nights but massively lower your expectations. If you have the option of paying extra for a hot tub lodge do that as they looked brand new. The lodge (Cedar) we stayed in was in a state of utter disrepair, as mentioned in other reviews and clearly no effort has been made to rectify the issues. They include: carpet stains, warped wooden steps, worn down oven dials so you can’t work it properly, broken area behind the toilet, toilet didn’t flush, broken bathroom tiles, flickering bathroom lights and only 2 out of 4 worked, broken table lamp, collapsed sofa arm rest, worn down kitchen cupboards, terrible WiFi that can barely open a webpage let alone stream films. The view is great onto the golf course so it’s a real shame the lodge, particularly the one we stayed in, had not been very well looked after. If you’re a light sleeper you may also find the noise from the A road close by a nuisance, even with the windows closed. Book one of the two hot tub lodges if you really must stay here.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights for the locality to friends and access to a golf course. There are very few positives about our stay: rude staff, below average breakfast, slow service, unclean bathrooms, poor quality linen and toiletries. After being told to ‘keep it down’ after a discussion with my partner, we felt very uncomfortable and guests were banging on the doors. Despite the fact they could be heard talking all night. We were made to feel unwelcome and left without breakfast. The staff have no manners and such slow service for breakfast. It’s very dated and needs to be improved greatly

Lovely stay in a lodge with jacuzzi with beautiful scenery and with privacy and working wifi included. Had been worried by some reviews so was pleasantly surprised. Minor downsides - you need to ***** beds and put out towels before leaving, would have expected this to be included in price. Check out by 10am - would be nice to have the option to extend this even if at additional price. Some areas look slightly tired eg some parts of external area could do with a repaint, cleaning needed around jacuzzi. Perhaps a few more instructions/welcome book on how to use items eg TV. Especially as some labels worn off through use. Welcome hamper might add a special touch.
