The location of this hotel is excellent! Lovely, quiet area and close to the cathedral and high street. The room was well appointed with a very comfortable bed and the best pillows I’ve experienced in all my travels. The room had a kettle for tea and coffee and a hair dryer. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. If you choose to have breakfast out, try the Cosy Club next door for a quirky atmosphere and delicious food!

Always choose Premier Inns whenever we travel the Uk, as always clean, modern and friendly service. One thing and one thing only……no toilet brush in toilet!!!

What a fantastic Premier Inn - you usually know what you are getting with a Premier Inn, a solid level of service, clean rooms, good value for money, but the team here went over and above in all areas. We stayed for 2 nights, check in was easy, and the lady (sorry no name) was very friendly and polite. The room was very clean, tidy and was worth the extra few pounds for a Premier Plus room. The added features such as a deluxe coffee machine and complimentary chocolate and water was a nice touch. We had breakfast both mornings, a buffet set up with plenty of fresh hot and cold food. Well worth the cost, and saved heading out to find breakfast. The room was serviced (you have to request this) but was completed by the time we returned just after lunch, which is great so we could refresh before heading back out. The bar was serviced by the same team running reception - but they did it with a smile on their face, and I'd particularly like to say thank you to the lady (who's name I didn't take, but she was a tall lady with short hair) who really was polite and friendly - keep up the great work. All in all this was a superior Premier Inn stay and we will certainly book again. Paid parking is available in nearby public car parks but you have to move car after 24hrs which nearly caught us out as I'd hope to extend stay via the parking app, but we moved to another car park again within 5min walk to hotel.

Comfy well located base for Exceter city. Pleasant and polite staff throughout with a restaurant serving simple but well cooked and presented food. Slight issue of noise from an independent gym below part of the hotel. Parking is available but a short walk from the hotel.

Everything exactly as it should be. I always use premier inn as I know what I’m getting. They are all pretty much the same so you know you will sleep well and also what services are available. They are a home from home for me and usually well situated with nearby parking. Highly recommend them.

We have stayed in this hotel many times and have always found the staff to be friendly and warm. Unfortunately my partner was taken ill during our stay and when I approached the manager asking if she could help us with a late check-out (which Premier Inn do advertise) she displayed no interest in our predicament and bluntly refused. Notably the hotel was not full. If she had at least provided some warmth and willingness to listen, even if unable to help, this would have still gone a long way. My experience has blighted my view of Premier Inns and I do wonder what may happen if someone were taken seriously ill a hotel when staying.

Premier is great because you know what you're getting for the price, but then all the staff we encountered took it that step further in making our stay superb. They were very friendly and helpful. Strongly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Exeter as the location is ideal

The hotel itself is fine, the rooms are nice, it's clean, the facilities and location are great. I've stayed here before and had a nice time which is why I booked again. Its what you'd expect from a chain hotel. HOWEVER, while we were staying here a guest smoking in their room caused the fire alarms to go off. This is obviously not the fault of the hotel or staff, of course, and just as frustrating for them as for the people staying there. But the response to this situation was ridiculously bad. People started trying to evacuate straight away but were only outside for a minute (literally) before a member of staff told one person we could go back inside. That one person then had to tell everyone else as the staff made no efforts to do so. While everyone filed back in, the alarm went off again. So, everyone tried to go back outside again. A very flustered member of staff then came into the stairway and was asked by a few people if we needed to evacuate or not, as at this point everyone knew it was due to a person smoking and not a real fire. The staff member told us they didn't know what to do, and they needed to call their manager, and then disappeared never to be seen again. People stood on the stairwell for around 10 minutes waiting for someone to tell us what the procedure was and if we could return to our rooms, before everyone just gave up on waiting. The staff made absolutely no attempt to communicate further with anyone about the situation and all of the information we got was due to other guests passing it on to each other. The alarm also then went off for another hour because, apparently, the staff didn't know how to turn it off. It was honestly quite shocking that not a single staff member took charge of the situation and made a decision on what to do, and then left multiple guests- some elderly who were struggling with the stairs- on the stairwell confused about whether or not the building was safe. No one made any attempt to follow up with guests. And as this all happened at 10pm it completely ruined our night, which was supposed to be a relaxing night away to celebrate my partners birthday and new job. Again, it isn't the fault of the staff or company that someone triggered the alarm, but the response from the staff was really bad and they seemingly had no training or common sense. No one took control, no one communicated, and because they didn't know how to turn off the alarm we had to sit listening to it until 11pm. It doesn't exactly encourage people to come back and I hate to think what would've happened if it was a real emergency.
