The hotel is pretty with full of character.
But the rooms were very cramped and tiny.
The floor boards creaked the whole night whenever anyone walked past the rooms or shared toilets nearby

We enjoyed a super warm welcome, clean accommodation in an historic rustic hotel, excellent meals (dinner and breakfast), great base for Haute Route walkers, attractive setting by the river, books to read whilst avoiding a rain storm. All good.

Came back for a re-visit been 20 or so times to Arolla. Family have been visiting since 1965. Came with the whole family so a group of 7 of us. Dinner was as always AMAZING. The steak and butter sauce is oit of this world. The fondu was delicious. Give them a visit if you can.

This is a true Swiss lodge at nearly the top of nowhere. The staff is friendly but it helps to have a little German or French. Be sure you specify exactly what you want in a room..like a shower AND toilet, or you may be sharing. You need to be fit enough to walk up to 4 flights with all your stuff. Our top floor room was lovely with 2 comfy twin beds, multiple windows and even a small sleeping loft (for kids?). Pump hand soap was available but if you want bath gel, shampoo, etc, you should bring it. The area is scenic & hiking excellent we enjoyed the outside cafe/bar area with magnificent views.

Nice remote place, nice stuff. Food for your money. Got upgrade from a room with shared toiled to a room with its own for extra money.
One bummer: we had some frozen food with us and hoped that property would allow us to warm it up in the micro, but they refused.
On the good side: they helped us with anther matter, where they didn't have to help.
Overall, good place.

Wir haben uns in diesem Haus mit einer Pizza das Nachtessen eingenommen. Die Pizzas waren sehr gut. Die Parkplätze sind gratis und es befindet sich auch die Zufahrt zum Campingplatz in der Nähe. Wer gerne draussen auf der Terrasse sitzt, kann das in schöner Atmosphäre.
