This little gem was conveniently located along our route to Dyersville, IA (to visit the Field of Dreams). We passed up the much more expensive Waterloo chains and stayed here for less than half the price. I didn't have high expectations for a $50/night room, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is a bit plain in appearance from the outside (not rundown but not fancy either) but the building is clean and in good repair inside. The check in attendant was very friendly and check in was fast and painless. The room was pretty standard - I was impressed their mini fridge has a REAL freezer compartment - those seem to be hard to come by in hotel rooms! In the area, there was a McDonald's next door to one side and a Road Ranger gas station to the other. We drove a couple of miles to a local pizza place to grab dinner and it was easy and convenient (and we saw a Casey's gas station along the way too). The pool was great - heated, really large, indoors - with a bathroom/shower area readily available as well. We slept in a bit and didn't get the breakfast, but overall, we were very happy with our stay here and would definitely stop again if we were passing through!
