Cross Keys Inn Ettrickbridge

A great pub, very well managed, staff friendly and very knowledgeable. Lots of great walks nearby and the food is very good.

Really excellent village pub in a beautiful valley setting. Such a friendly and helpful welcome from all the staff. Traditional country inn with great places to eat and drink. Great range of beers and great choices on the menu. We enjoyed fish and chips (fabulously fresh fish, thin and crunchy batter, divine steak cut chips), a superb ham salad (thick cut fresh gammon ham, hard boiled eggs, new potatoes, sweet pickles and colourful leaves) and a chicken souvlaki (served in a wrap bread with Greek salad, with skinny fries). All the meals we tried were of great quality, beautifully prepared and the prices represented excellent value. Portions were so huge we couldn’t manage dessert, but will return for this and the wonderful looking pizzas we saw on other tables. Would recommend, a rare treat!

A huge thank you to you and your staff for all the work you put into our post christening gathering on Sunday. It was a wonderful event. I think the family really enjoyed having a happy gathering and the pub was as always a lovely, cosy setting with a wonderful atmosphere and great food!

We spent one night here on our way home from a motorbike tour in Scotland. It's a really lovely place! The room was spacious,tastefully decorated and clean. Bed was super comfy and we had a restful night. All of the staff were very friendly. The Cross Keys just felt like a home from home where we could relax with a nice pint and some good food. The only thing that was a slight disappointment ( and the only reason for not giving 5 stars) was the lack of hot water in the evening which meant I couldn't take a shower; hopefully this is something that gets resolved in the future. Thankfully it was back on in the morning and was nice and hot! Despite this little glitch, we would absolutely recommend and will likely be back

A nice homely country pub with clean and well appointed rooms. It is very convenient for Ian Lowthian's ceilidh weekend, being just nextdoor to the village hall. The staff are all very friendly and quite happy for us musicians to hold an informal session in the bar on the evening before the main event. The breakfasts are excellent, cooked to order and generous in portions, as is the evening meal. I can recommend the Cross Keys.

We had a lovely weekend at the Cross Keys. There is such a lovely atmosphere to the whole place. It is so warm and welcoming and tastefully decorated to complement the style and age of the building.Our room was huge and again delightful with a very comfortable super king sized. bed , and a bath as well as shower. The food was quite exceptional. We had a lovely dinner on our first night, and a wonderful choice of breakfast in the morning, all beautifully cooked and presented. My only only suggestion would be to perhaps add a free standing towel rail in the bedroom as there was no where to hang them in the bathroom.
