The staff's customer service was polite. The food was also satisfying. I thought the hotel was clean and nice.

It was a shame that the baths and changing rooms were full of hair and sand from day trip beachgoers. It is best not to accept general visitors during the beach season.

I went to see the Blue Dog. We chose this one because there were no other suitable hotels. It's hard to find from the big road. Another reason is that a sign with the old name still stands. It seemed deserted, probably because it was before the swimming season. There was a pile of bulky trash next to the building, and the bonfire was probably there to burn the trash. The room was surprisingly large and comfortable. I had a good impression that the old building was being used with care, with some repairs made here and there. I could see the ocean from my room and was in a good mood. We avoided the public bath during the day trip hot spring hours, so it was almost reserved for private use. The changing room was also kept clean. The shampoo was very good. It might be the best among public baths. We also had the opportunity to use the massage chair. The souvenir corner in the lobby is fully stocked with everything you need.

A small hotel that seems to be built directly on the beach. It was smaller than I expected, but all the staff were very friendly and it was a comfortable stay. The "large public bath" was about the size of a small or medium-sized bath. However, since it was a weekday, there were not many people staying there, so it was spacious enough for the three of us. The large window facing the sea was pleasant. The room, an 8-tatami Japanese-style room, looked very old and small in the photos, but in reality the entrance was quite spacious, there was a space with chairs by the window, and a wide veranda, so it didn't feel too cramped and we were able to stay comfortably. The futon was a simple type that you lay out yourself. It was just a mat, so it might not be enough for those who like it fluffy. It was enough for our family. I thought it would be difficult to have a BBQ in the heat, so I chose an octopus-filled kaiseki meal in anticipation of an indoor restaurant, but it was actually served in an open-air cafe-style restaurant on the first floor. But the sea breeze was pleasant, and the meal while watching the magnificent red-purple sunset not through a window was unexpectedly wonderful, and it was surely a better experience than eating at an indoor restaurant. My son, who had finished eating first, had fun on the wooden swing and benches on the beach. The octopus and sashimi caught in Etajima were fresh and delicious, and the whole thing was well prepared, and the tempura was hot and very delicious. The children's meal was also quite filling and satisfying. The sea was very clear, but unfortunately there was a lot of garbage that had washed up from somewhere, probably because we went in the afternoon. However, the sand was clean, as it seemed to be cleaned every morning. It was a weekday and because of the coronavirus, the beach was almost exclusively for a few families. It was a shame that the banana boats were not running and the food stalls were not open, but there was nothing we could do about it. Hiroshima residents are so lucky to have such a wonderful resort so close to the city. I definitely want to go to Etajima and Uminos again someday!
