I can't recommend this place enough, what a GREAT stay we had! Just up the road from Estes Park proper, but within driving distance to EVERYTHING. The rooms here are very well-tended, housekeeping is top-notch, as are Austin and Sam at the front desk, tending to your every need. The fireplace in the lobby is very inviting, the free breakfast is excellent, and the pool is open and very refreshing! The game room is well appointed, the mountain views are spectacular, and watching the elk just outside our door was too cool! And while I am well aware that nothing is perfect, this place comes pretty close, at least for us, it did. Please put Expedition Lodge on your list for a great place to stay, when visiting Estes Park. We will be back again!

Very nice comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Lovely breakfast setting and friendly host. Love the 2nd floor outdoor veranda overlooking the town and mountains. The hotel is on the upper part of the town overlooking it. Have stayed there before and will again.

This is a former Rodeway Inn that now appears to be on its second recent rebranding (new name is the the Expedition Lodge, rebranding from the Rocky Mountain Hotel). Walking through the property shows that it's kind of in between its former Rodeway Inn era and the newer hotel it's trying to be. A remodel has been done but its clear it was focused on some things (room bathrooms, lobby, new deck over the hotel entrance) while avoiding others (hallways, room HVACs). Overall, we had a nice stay, primarily based on sleeping comfortably (beds were very comfy) and the price was great for Estes Park (paid about $160 for the night, when all other hotels in town were charging more than $300). For other positives, staff were all very friendly (the night auditor assigned us a nice balcony room with a view in the morning), location close to town and the national park was great, shower was hot, and the free breakfast (while not extensive) provided a nice start to the morning. Thank you for a nice stay!

Positives: staff was very kind and check in was easy and the room was-for the most part-clean. Negatives: This place was expensive for what it offered. First, the bathroom is tiny and the shower doesn’t have anywhere to put soap or a razor. There wasn’t anywhere to put the soap for the sink either. Second, there was hair on the walls of the shower (definitely not from us). Gross. Third, there wasn’t a phone! We had an issue with our remote and used our cell phone to call the number provided at check in for issues. When we called it, no one answered and we couldn’t leave a message. We had to go down to the desk to figure out the issue (which we did-you have to have this little box on the tv pointed out and it was behind the tv). Fourth was breakfast. They explained the kitchen was being remodeled and breakfast was minimal. Which, fine, but this was beyond minimal. Other issues, the restaurant is non existent. If you don’t mind these things at an expensive price then by all means..go there.

Very clean room, affordable price, friendly staff, perfectly located with beautiful views of the mountain all around the property, balcony, Heated indoor pool, and proximity to the highway, it is the best place for the money I have stayed at. Sam at front desk was especially extremely helpful. I was new to Rocky Mountain and Estes. She provided best help every time I reached out to her. We need more good people on planet earth like her. The grand free breakfast was even a bigger surprise. Breakfast room is huge and stocked with fresh healthy breakfast which you don't get in Hyatt's. The breakfast variety baffled me. I stayed in mid October and I will be definitely back again next year.

The Expedition Lodge is a great hotel. We stayed here in 2022 when it was Rocky Mountain Hotel we loved it then and we loved it this time too. There has been a lot of remodeling. Our room was very comfortable. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. And we love the pool! We will stay here again on our next trip to Estes Park.

Sam at the front desk was friendly, helpful and easy to talk to. She knew what she was talking about and worked quickly and efficiently! The customer service was by far amazing! The pillows, beds and rooms in general were comfortable. Lots of room, and amazing views!
