Kempinski Hotel Bahía

A beautiful resort that feels like you are in the Caribbean rather than Europe. The grounds are so well kept and the pool area is great. Lots of chairs. Need a car as you can’t walk to any towns from the hotel but it was a great location with comfortable beds and large bathrooms. A little dated but very comfortable. The gym had everything you need to stay committed to your fitness too!

My recent stay at the Kempinski Bahía was quite disappointing, especially for a hotel that claims to be 5-star. First, the hotel and its facilities are extremely outdated, and a complete renovation is urgently needed. The lack of staffing was also apparent throughout our stay. Requests were not handled promptly due to the shortage of personnel. We arrived at 3 AM, and to our surprise, there was no one to greet us or assist with our luggage—no bellman in sight. Additionally, we had requested a king-size bed, but instead, we found two single beds pushed together, which was quite uncomfortable. At the pool, the service was equally disappointing. Not only was the quality of the pool bar poor, but we had to get up ourselves to retrieve a menu, as no staff approached us to offer one. The cocktails we ordered were subpar, and when we requested towels and mattresses, it took an unreasonable amount of time for them to be delivered. This hotel unfortunately falls short of its 5-star rating. Based on my experience, it does not even meet the standard of a luxury hotel."

We spent a week at the hotel, including New Year's Eve. This hotel has one of the best staffs in the world. The service from check in through check out was fantastic. We had booked a suite with a balcony that turned out to be huge (including a hot tub). We brought two small dogs and they were treated very well by the staff. The room service food was the best we had in years. Like you were eating in their restaurant, not some afterthought that shows up lukewarm in your room and has a 25% surcharge. Breakfast is great as well. The location right at the beach is perfect. Highly recommended.

We stayed for just one night and I wish it had been for longer. We had a junior suite with a sea view, and it was a lovely room with good aircon, and large balcony space. We had really nice cocktails at the pool bar in the afternoon, and then sat at the Black Rose bar in the evening, which was perfect for a chilled night. The cocktail of the day was like an Aperol Spritz and was amazing. Then a Blood Orange Negroni, awesome. We dined in the restaurant overlooking the sea, and it was a pleasant evening. Loved the food, oysters, ceviche and shared dorada for main. It was all served perfectly. Some nice and reasonably priced Alberino wine. Perfect. This is a real luxury experience, and we loved every minute of our stay.

We had the pleasure of dinner at the hotel restaurant last week during the christmas market event, and it was a good experience. The festive atmosphere was great, and the evening was wonderful. Special thanks to Toni, who attended us with exceptional care and professionalism. His attentive service made the experience more enjoyable. We left very happy and satisfied.

We went to the Christmas market and then after to the Resturant for lunch, a table of 9 people. We had 3 kids with us and asked when ordering if the pepperoni pizza was spicy because it was for a child…. and we assured was not spicy. The pizza arrived with dried chilis on it. We sent it back and explained we asked for not spicy and were assured it wasn’t, for the manager to argue back at us and tell us it’s our own fault for not ordering off the kids menu! Then We waited nearly 2 hours for the main course to arrive which was very ordinary quality and some of them very bad. The spinach and ricottta ravioli they forgot the spinach…it’s nearly laughable at this point . Then once we were starving hungry and asked where the food with the Resturant manage came over to apologise and said they are so busy because it’s the market and they are habit. To provide food for the bar also. I told them that in the Marbella club this would never happen…it’s a five star star grand luxe resort and this excise is not acceptable and if the they knew they were having a Xmas market and they would be busy then they should have more staff! THE MANAGER AGREED WITH ME!!! what a total mess. A bill or around 500€ was reduced to nearly €400 to apologise, but it doesn’t matter! It’s just not acceptable and I will be writing to the hotel manager! Appalling service! Should be a 1 star for the service given!!!!
