A very good choice. Both the service and the place are great! The catering and staff are very good. The lit fireplace in the restaurant room is a huge plus and a wonderful surprise. I highly recommend this address. Thank you for their welcome!

Misleading description, underwhelming experience. Hotel unheated and shabby, very basic amenities, excluding power points. (one per room) To be expected in North Africa. Staff, with exception of housekeeping, not helpful or welcoming.

Quaint. Only real advantage is its location. Rooms small. Shower was a challenge. Food was average at best. Stairs stairs stairs to get to rooms. But it is in the middle of things with easy access to the harbour and medina

This was the 11th Riad that we had stayed at in Morocco, and unfortunately it was a disappointment from start to finish. We arrived, didn’t even see the receptionist who was hidden behind a glass screen. At every other Riad, we’d been warmly greeted by the staff with mint tea and often biscuits. This was a totally different experience - no tea, no warm welcome, no interest, they didn’t show us around at all, and we only knew there was a roof terrace from other reviews!. Our room (on the 2nd floor when Riad almost empty - why?), was very small, no ac, no hairdryer (they did provide one when asked), no toiletries, no water - these were at all the other Riads. Breakfast was fine, as was the dinner we had one night, but total disengagement of the staff, hardly a word. The Riad is in the medina, and you need a cart to take your luggage. The “busboy” carried our suitcases upstairs (not our fault 2nd floor) and was as miserable as sin. Having read the other reviews, our comments are not the first in this vein, and we wonder why the Riad hasn’t made some changes - go out in the street, we met 2 lovely young men working in the cafe opposite and the stall next door who’d knock spots off their staff!!

Cozy and nice and with very different rooms and interior. Be aware that several of the rooms do not face the courtyard and that several require stair climbing. !!! Once up there look out for hidden discreet rooftops and sun-beds. For some reason the hotel does not tell about them. It can be difficile find a waiter but if you do they’re ready to serve you

Jann & Jo stayed in Riad Al Madina September. A wonderful, traditional Moroccan Riad that is welcoming, comfortable and has really lovely, helpful staff. Located within the Medina, the surrounding streets are charming and interesting, with so much to see and do all the time. There is a huge choice places to eat or get refreshments very close by, from where you can watch life in Essaouria. We were happy with our rooms, which were clean, comfortable and interesting. We enjoyed our breakfasts every day and had a couple of delicious evening meals there too; as well as sometimes enjoying a glass of wine while looking at the night sky from the open central courtyard. A big thanks to all the staff who we will never forget for being so friendly, helpful and efficient – a great team! A special thanks to two of the catering team, Zach and Yosef, who were so kind and caring during the hours following the earthquake. Highly recommend this Riad!

This was the only Hotel in Marokko were we felt that we were not welcome. May be they had a new staff, since the hotel probably newly opened after the Covid?? But this was not a hotel for grown ups over 180 cm. The stairs were so low that you knocked your head in the ceiling going down. The rooms and specially the bathrooms needed urgently renovating. It was really unpleasant to take a shower in the the very bad bathtub.

Walking through the Medina we came across this restaurant at Riad Al Madina in Essaouira Morocco. The interior is very nice and welcoming . We felt at home and was greeted by a very friendly server Hajiba who was very patient as we took out time reading our menus. We ordered a bottle of wine and water which Hajiba brought promptly and set up at a small table. The wine a local wine was very good . We ordered Bruschetta as a starter and I think it was the best Bruschetta I had ever had .. a eggplant base topped with tomatoes and pesto . Just wonderful . We then had Spaghetti Vongole and Lasagna … both dishes were superb . Beautiful ambience , great food and excellent service made our dinner remembered. Thank you Hajiba !

The interior of the hotel and the central courtyard were absolutely stunning. However, the rooms were a little bit cramped and didn’t have space to lay out your cases anywhere. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was as good as any other hotel that we stayed in during our holiday. On our final night, we ate in the hotel restaurant where the food was good and the staff were great. Overall positive experience.

Been in Essaouira for a week already and and tried to give a shot in changing my actual Riad which I'm very happy with, from the moment I arrived at this Riad I felt the unfriendliness of the staff but still was curious to check the rates and especially the rooms which were dark and very small. The receptionist wanted to charge me 350 dhs per night without breakfast for staying a week which was ridiculous for the quality of the Riad. The place needs some serious renovation and professionalism

I spent 4 nights at this lovely Riad last November-2022-nd I was very impressed. This Riad is in the centre of the Medina,a short walk to the bus station.Check-in was handled speedily and the room I was given was large and clean with a street view.Sleep quality was excellent.Breakfast each morning was very good and the service was prompt and friendly.I want to mention the staff who really made my stay a memorable one-Abdullah,Hassan,Jonas,Samu,Ibrahim and Monica.I am happy to recommend this place and give it 10 out of 10.

What a disappointment The online photos make this hotel look lovely. I'd like to kniw where all those pretty rooms are hidden, because we sure didn't get one! We had a dingy cell of a room, all decorated in old dark brown furniture and bedding. There was no air conditioning, no shampoo, no shower curtain, no hair dryer. The fixtures were old, rusty and dirty. The roof top was very unpleasant, with torn or broken lounge chairs and bird droppings on all the furniture. On the plus side, breakfast was very nice with Moroccan pancakes, breads and a few fruits.
