Hôtel la Perle de Mogador

The hotel from the outside looks good the service was amazing especially all the staff behind the counter very helpful and very kind. The swimming pool was nice but the shower facilities near the swimming pool smelled horrible. The room I stayed in was decent with working TV and WiFi. If I need a towel refill and room service I requested it at the reception. Breakfast is very nice with a range of foods to pick from and a selection of drinks but no water, if you need water in your room you'd have to pay 20 dirhams for a 1.5L bottle (you can purchase 5l for 12 dirhams outside). Overall I think the hotel is overpriced for its facilities but the customer service from the staff made up for everything else.

We came with our children for a day pass at this hotel to use the pool facility. Hotel over charged us, requiring we pay $95 US dollars to just sit by the pool (we had three adults and 5 kids). We relented and paid this exorbitant amount as we walked very far and were quite tired by the time we arrived. After paying such an incredible price, the hotel refused to even give us enough towels for the kids, even though there were hardly any people in the pool. Judging from just the pool experience, I can only imagine the horrible experience if we stayed here overnight. I would advice others to seek other hotel and pool options if they wish to have a positive experience in this area.

Dirty & Not Prepared Best feature is the exterior of the building and I guess a parking spot is a luxury in Morocco. Came on time at 12pm and they checked my reservation to ensure they had it. I decided to get a late lunch and then check-in fully. When I tried to check-in around 4pm they didn’t have my rooms ready. I reserved 2 rooms with a pool side view. After waiting in the lobby and asking a few times if the room was ready they finally said it was 30 minutes later. Got to my room to find it open, floors dirty/wet, no towels, and a clogged sink. So after another hour got the sink unclogged and a towel that I had to grab from the cleaning trolly because there wasn’t a staff member to be seen. I decided to wear slippers in the room and not bother to tell them to clean the floor again. My poolside view was a joke from a 1x2 ft window that mostly had a view of the adjacent construction dirt zone. I literally had to open the window and stick my head out to get a good view of the pool. Elevator had a foul smell. Pool table required coins to play. Breakfast included! Had to request fresh orange juice that Morocco is infamous for because initially they had powdered orange water. All breads were cold. Tables were dirty. Staff attire was dirty. Went to outdoor lounge area to drink coffee and tea to find rusty chairs and sun damaged plastic chairs with dirty spots on chair pads. Overall, I rate this hotel a 1 star because the price, appearance, and accommodations.

The rooms were really cozy with nice beds and even includes smart tv's which is really good in my opinion. The breakfast was really fresh. The garden was spacious, clean and beautiful and the inclusion of entertainment spaces is really nice. Would definitely recommend

The front desk and the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The property was clean, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Some table games were offered to spend time with your friends. As a place to stay in Essaouira, I highly recommend this hotel.
